Wyong Winners - Tips For Saturday 22nd November

Tips by Jack Webster for Saturday's Wyong meeting. Selections based on a good track.

Race 1 - 1:30PM WYONG LEAGUES GROUP BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (2000 METRES)

1. Cormac T has shown impressive form since his debut, coming into this race after a narrow defeat here last start, where he battled hard and just missed out. Prior to that, he ran well in a tough race at Kensington, with his final placing not doing justice to his performance. He gets another chance today and will benefit from the 3kg claim, making him a strong contender.

Dangers: 3. Coto De Caza comes into this race off a strong win at Kembla over this distance. He has a proven record at this track, including a victory here last campaign over 2100m. Fully race fit, he’s one to watch and capable of striking again. 5. Oakfield Mamselle enters off a last start win at Kempsey, finishing strongly in the closing stages. Faces a tougher task here and will need to overcome a wide draw, but she’s capable of showing up. 9. Just Boogie has had on and off form since resuming this time out. He won at Orange over this distance two starts prior but was chased down by the field last showing at Hawkesbury. Gets another chance.

How to play it: Cormac T WIN ($1.85 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 2 - 2:05PM TAB.COM.AU CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1600 METRES))

3. Jack Of Aces showed strong improvement when resuming here last start, charging from the rear to narrowly miss in a close finish. He’ll aim to build on that performance, returning to a suitable distance here and has gone close when second up in the past.

Dangers: 1. Barazin resumes after a spell, with two solid trials leading into this race. He has shown promise since arriving from France earlier this year, though he’s yet to break through. Gets another chance here under suitable conditions and distance. 2. Pasima has been edging closer to a breakthrough this campaign, with strong efforts since resuming and competitive city-level performances in her previous preparation. She delivered a respectable run last start at Rosehill and should be fitter with the one-week turnaround. 6. Stylebender has been in form with three placings from his last three starts. Can cause an upset here at his home track.

How to play it: Jack Of Aces WIN ($3.90 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 3 - 2:40PM MERCURE KOOINDAH WATERS SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1600 METRES

5. Lady Justice has been consistent since her debut, with two placings from three starts. She showed significant improvement when resuming at Kembla, finishing a strong second behind a dominant winner, with a clear gap to third. Fitter second up, she looks to be a major threat here.

Dangers: 6. Starphistocated is third up and has shown great potential with two strong runs this campaign. Her latest effort at Hawkesbury was impressive, battling on and finishing strongly to claim runner-up honors. Can be a sharp improver here and is one to watch. 1. Samphire Green showed promise during his initial campaign but disappointed in his last start at Newcastle. He returns to a distance that suits, and the better barrier, along with an experienced jockey aboard, should provide a more favourable setup for this race. 8. Arisden has shown steady improvement since her debut. Racing at her home track, she gets another opportunity to build on her progress and should be poised to improve further.

How to play it: Lady Justice Win ($4.00 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 4 - 3:15PM DE BORTOLI PROVINCIAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

2. Guzumped put in a strong effort last start at Rosehill, charging home from the rear to finish powerfully. He boasts an excellent record at this track, with two wins from three attempts, including one at this distance. The inside draw and 3kg apprentice claim provide a favourable setup, making him a strong contender. Should be among the finishers here.

Dangers: 4. Oakfield Prince returns to a track where he has enjoyed great success, including a win here last start over this distance on similar track conditions. He prefers this distance and will look to build on his past performance heading into this race. Right in this. 6. Sir Godric made a strong return, winning first up at Scone after a year-long layoff. Fitter for the one-week turnaround, he’ll look to be in contention again based on his performance last start. 8. Without You scored a convincing win last start at Hawkesbury and draws the inside barrier here. With a strong setup, he should be right in the mix again.

How to play it: Guzumped WIN ($2.40 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 5 - 3:50PM DOMELAND BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

1. Cool Shalaa has been impressive since her debut, boasting three wins and a placing from five starts. She comes off a dominant first-up win at this distance last start at Ballina, leading throughout. She won second up in her initial campaign and shapes as the main threat here.

Dangers: 3. Zoe Shark battled on well and finished strongly late in a win at Newcastle last start. She has a consistent record at this distance, and she can be expected to make a strong impact here. Will benefit from the 3kg claim and inside draw. 7. La Signore Dane opened her campaign in style with two strong wins at Canberra. Last start had valid excuses and can be forgiven. Returns to a distance that plays to her strengths and looks ready to bounce back in form. 2. Zealously finished strongly after setting a contested pace to win when resuming in a 1000m maiden at Kembla. Improvement likely, now fitter for the run.

How to play it: Cool Shalaa WIN ($9.50 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 6 - 4:30PM COTTER ACCOUNTANTS MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

4. Puerto Banus is second up here after an improved run last start at Muswellbrook, finishing runner-up after being caught in the closing stages. He’ll take benefit from that effort and looks ready to strike in this race.

Dangers: 9. Miss Trentino is unbeaten in two trials leading into her debut, showing plenty of promise. Faces the challenge of an awkward draw but could the talent to overcome it. Strong contender for a debut win. 1. Majestuoso Phoenix lines up at her home track after narrowly missing the placings in her last two outings. Capable of natural improvement and warrants respect in this field. 5. Royal Armada showed promise in his last trial running second at Warwick Farm. One to watch.

How to play it: Puerto Banus WIN ($4.20 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 7 - 5:05PM WYONG EQUINE CLINIC MIDWAY MAIDEN PLATE (1200 METRES)

1. Artifactx has been knocking on the door this campaign, finishing runner-up in both starts since resuming. He comes off a strong effort here last start, closing well late but narrowly missing out. Third up and fully race fit, he returns to a track where he has gone close before, making him a key contender.

Dangers: 11. Synergize resumes here off the back of an impressive trial win at Rosehill. Freshened and can make an impact. One to watch. 3. Bondasong has been impressive in trials, securing two second-place finishes leading into his debut. Looks poised to strike first-up. 5. Happy Cappy produced a solid effort at Kempsey last start, finishing just outside the placings. Race fit and primed to cause an upset in this one.

How to play it: Artifactx WIN ($3.30 TAB Fixed Odds)

Race 8 - 5:45PM SKY CHANNEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

7. Candlewick launched her career with three impressive trial wins followed by a dominant debut victory here two weeks ago over this distance. With the inside barrier and nearly identical conditions to her last start, she logically shapes as the one to beat.

Dangers: 2. Creek In strong form since resuming, opening his campaign with a win at Newcastle over this distance. Has placed in both runs since, narrowly beaten in the final stages last time at Kembla. Will pose a threat here. 4. Thundering Soul has placed in his last two outings at Scone and Newcastle, finishing strongly on both occasions. Will appreciate the rise in distance and the better draw here. Right in the mix. 9. Plaza has been consistent since her debut, with a win and two placings from four starts. Placed well at Kembla last time out and is well suited to this race.

How to play it: Candlewick WIN ($2.10 TAB Fixed Odds)
