Racing NSW's General Manager-Veterinary Services, Dr Toby Koenig and Official Veterinarian, Dr James Cleland, have this morning inspected Gold Trip to determine its suitability to start in the Kyperos Group Rosehill Gold Cup (2000m) to be conducted at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday (30th October).
Gold Trip was transported to the Ciaron Maher/David Eustace Warwick Farm stables overnight, arrived this morning and completed light work.
Dr Koenig has been provided with a report from the Racing Victoria Veterinary Department which determined the horse was not suitable to start last Saturday, 23 October 2021, when found to be lame in the right hind leg and right foreleg on Friday, 22 October 2021.
Dr Koenig also consulted with Professor Chris Whitton, who assessed scans performed on the entire.
Dr Koenig has advised that “based on the veterinary report provided by RVL and after consulting with Prof Whitton, the diagnostics determined that Gold Trip did not present with a heightened risk for injury. On the basis of a lameness examination undertaken this morning, the horse has been deemed suitable to start this Saturday.”
Racing NSW Veterinarians will continue to monitor the horse in the lead-up to Saturday's race.
