Wyong Winners - Tips For Thursday 15th June

By Nick Berney

Tips and race by race preview by Nick Berney for Thursday's Wyong meeting. Selections based on a soft to good track. Monitor for bias/pattern.

Race 1 - 12:05PM ETTALONG DIGGERS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

5. Emphatic Bel showed speed to lead last start at this track/distance and was honest in defeat, running second. Further, that race rated extremely well relative to the day, and the margins throughout confirmed the quality. The three-year-old has raced consistently this preparation and maps to control the pace. In addition, repeating her previous performance/figure will make her hard to catch.

Dangers: 1. Luai comes through the same race as Emphatic Bel and was solid in his first start. He will be fitter for that effort and undoubtedly improve from the race experience. 7. Amberina wasn't suited to the race shape first-up and had to make a long-wide sustained run. She receives a significant barrier change allowing her to have a much more economical run in transit. Market watch on 3. All Too Ausbred who hasn't raced for 350 days but has trialled well enough.

How to play it: Emphatic Bel WIN ($5.50 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: ODDS.

Emphatic Bel runs second at Wyong on June 1

Race 2 - 12:40PM WYONG LEAGUES GROUP MAIDEN PLATE (1350 METRES)

4. Huracanevo, who resumes, has trialled well enough and went through the line solidly in his recent heat at Rosehill. He is still learning but brings metropolitan form lines and will be strong late. Additionally, the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou stable are renowned for having their runners quite forward first-up and Josh Parr rides.

Dangers: 2. Dapper Dancer exceeded market expectations last start at Warwick Farm and ran on well for third after being unsuited to the race shape. He brings a fitness edge, and Jason Collett sticks. Add 6. Skyhawk, who was just beaten at this track/distance last start a fortnight ago.

How to play it: Huracanevo WIN ($2.70 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.

Race 3 - 1:20PM CLUB TERRIGAL MIDWAY 4YO&UP MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES)

Leaning towards 2. Mr Kennedy who brings a fitness edge and has raced consistently throughout his campaign. The six-year-old gets key factors in his favour here and is on a seven-day backup. Moreover, he drops back to 1100m, where he produces his peak figures, the blinkers go back on, and he will roll forward. The Richard Litt gallopers sectional profile suggests he can improve again, and he brings multiple winning ratings.

Dangers: 4. Counter Move resumes, won a recent trial at Beaumont in style and went through the line full of energy. She maps well and looks wound up to run well here. Stablemates 1. Lord Bob and debutante 8. The Hussonator come through the same trial at Gosford. Lord Bob has the race experience, and Grant Buckley rides for the first time. Add 6. Paji Briway who looks to have returned improved.

How to play it: Mr Kennedy WIN ($2.10 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.

Mr Kennedy runs second last start at Gosford on June 8

Race 4 - 1:55PM MINGARA RECREATION CLUB PROV C1 & M (2100 METRES)

Hard to go past 5. Acceber, who was honest last start in a stronger grade at Rosehill Gardens. The pace negated the bias, and the gelding ran on well for third behind the in-form Grebeni. He has been a model of consistency in the majority of his runs this campaign, and he sets up well here. Further, he has a ratings edge over some of his key rivals and will be hard to hold out.

Dangers: 2. El Bravo was well fancied last start at Bathurst and bravely held on for second. He chased a fast tempo throughout, got left in front along from home and then was in a duel for the concluding stages. The four-year-old is rock-hard fit and is a definite chance. 11. Tell The Future has improved each run this campaign and is ready to win now, stepping out to 2100m. Add 4. Semper Fortis and 6. Special Day to trifectas and first fours.

How to play it: Acceber WIN ($1.90 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: SPLIT.

Acceber runs third at Rosehill on June 3

Race 5 - 2:35PM COASTLINE CLEANING & MAINTENANCE MAIDEN (1600 METRES)

All key indicators suggest 4. The Professor is ready to peak third-up, and he profiles well for this event. After getting too far back in an even tempo, the three-year-old had too much to do last start. Further, he was blocked for a run at the top of the straight, but once clear, he balanced up and hit the line well, running solid closing splits. Expecting him to bounce off that effort, and Jason Collett rides for the first time from the soft draw.

Dangers: 8. Occhiata had no luck last start and was three wide out on a limb facing the breeze for most of the trip. He can bounce back with a significant barrier change allowing him to have a much more economical run in transit, and a drying surface is ideal. 9. Align The Planets is coming out of a high-rating race that has since been confirmed with a subsequent winner. He will be fitter and 1600m suits. Add 5. Our Kinsmen and 13. Sonny Fella to trifectas and first fours.

How to play it: The Professor WIN ($3.80 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.

The Professor runs fourth at Gosford on May 25

Race 6 - 3:10PM MUNMORAH UNITED BOWLING CLUB CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

Keen on 5. Mount Warning who is coming out of time/sectional merit races and profiles well for this assignment. The three-year-old started a solid $2.80 favourite last start at Newcastle, led at a moderate tempo, and sprinted one of the fastest 400m-200m splits of the meeting but peaked on her run over the concluding stages. The filly is suited back to 1100m, a tight turning track and receives blinkers for the first time. Additionally, she has the key asset of acceleration and, with even luck, will be hard to beat with Sam Clipperton riding from barrier one.

Dangers: 4. Angel Fund returned in style at Gosford 21 days ago and hit the line hard to break through for her maiden win. Further, she ran some of the meeting's fastest closing splits, and all key indicators suggest she can only improve off that effort by stepping up in the distance. 6. Ringdembells had every chance last start at Gosford when running third, but her SP must be respected. Moreover, the form of that race has since been confirmed with a subsequent winner. 7. Chiky Chiky Mama meets tougher opposition here but can roll forward and give a sight.

How to play it: Mount Warning WIN ($2.70 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: SPLIT.

Mount Warning runs second at Newcastle on May 30

Race 7 - 3:50PM BELLA GROUP BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)

1. Eiger resumes without an official public trial but brings strong form lines to this event relative to his rivals. The six-year-old must carry a hefty weight but is a proven fresh performer and maps to have all favours. Additionally, he has multiple winning figures and handles all conditions. Each-way.

Dangers: 12. Victory Salute sat outside the leader in a solid tempo last start at Newcastle and battled on well to hold second. She is rock-hard fit and a slight step back in distance suits. 7. Edge Of Reward receives a significant barrier change and can improve second-up. Add 13. She's Independent and 3. Lord Heron to trifectas and first fours who are honest on-pace types.

How to play it: Eiger E/W ($10 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: SPLIT.

Eiger first-up last prep at Randwick on December 22

Race 8 - 4:25PM CLUBS NSW CENTRAL COAST REGION BM 64 HCP (1600 METRES)

4. Trust The Process has a strong platform and is ready to improve third-up over 1600m, where he produces all his peak figures. The gelding was run to suit last start at this track a fortnight ago but ran on hard to finish second. He brings strong lines to this event, and with the anticipated genuine tempo, expect him to savage the line.

Dangers: 6. Awesome Wonder resumes and has trialled well enough. She drops in grade and is a key late market watch. 8. Martini Crusader maps well and add 3. Roccaforte to trifectas and first fours.

How to play it: Trust The Process WIN ($4.80 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.
