Noble Attack To Handle Wet Conditions At Kembla (Tuesday)

Family history has co-trainer Luke Price quietly confident Noble Attack can handle bottomless conditions at Kembla Grange on Tuesday.

Kembla was rated a Heavy 10 on Monday with the track set to be monitored closely in the lead-up to the card with more showers forecast on raceday.

Noble Attack ($11 on TAB) is a sibling to several current and former Price-trained gallopers including city performers Noble Joey, Noble Belle and Noble Soldier.

Noble Joey won more than $500,000 during his career while Noble Soldier won a Midway event last year and is currently enjoying some time in the paddock.

Noble Attack is the last foal out of the successful broodmare Princess Fiorella and while he's yet to win a race, the son of Countattack has finished runner up in five of his nine starts.

He gets the opportunity to break his maiden in the Phearson Midway Maiden Plate (1200m).

"He gets his chance and will handle the heavy track," Price, who trains with his dad Robert, said.

"We changed gear, we've got a good rider on (Tom Sherry) and it's his home track.

"He will make his own luck and he is probably our best chance with the track the way it is."

The Prices have three horses entered in the Phearson Midway but are unlikely to start stablemate Rare Beauty ($4.60) on the heavy track while Sydney Lover ($61) is among the emergencies.

Monte Invincible (race five-$26) and Powerbeel (race six-$26) are also set to come out of their respective races due to the rain-affected surface.

It leaves two-year-old first starter Monte Maximus as the stable's likely other runner in the True Crime 2YO Maiden (1200m).

Monte Maximus was a $220,000 purchase at last year's Inglis Classic Sale and has had a pair of trials in preparation for his debut where he is rated a $19 chance.

"He's a lovely horse but not quite there yet," Price said. "It is a good place to start.

"He is an Invader horse. His trials have only been average but I know he is better than his trials.

"It has taken a while for the penny to drop and he did work quite well on a heavy on the other day." Brock Ryan will pilot Monte Maximus.
