Track improving to Soft 7 and rail out 1m
Race 1 MAIDEN PLATE (1350m): |
---|
Tricky opener, but this sets up nicely for home track filly 7. Don't Recall resuming from a lengthy spell. Has been given two searching 1000m trials, and blinkers come off. The Star Witness breed continues to excel on rain-affected going.
Dangers: Vancouver three-year-old 1. Bullet Hero resumes off two trials, and draws to get a nice trail; while improving Hawkes-trained three-year-old 3. Crazy Wolf switches back from a handy first-up run on the synthetic in Victoria for his first start in NSW.
How to play it: Don't Recall to win. Odds and Evens: Odds a special
Race 2 CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (2100m): |

Out over the longer journey which augurs well for progressive and lightly raced four-year-old 2. Mr Bond fourth-up stretched out from the mile. Surged home to win his maiden by a space two runs back before working home okay in a deeper provincial Class 1, and loves it soft.
Dangers: Well-bred three-year-old 4. Kermajack was forced to cover a mountain of ground wide in the wet last start and was beaten a mile, but the effort was better than it looked. Previously had surged home to win a maiden, and much better suited here from the draw and with a crucial jockey change. Including three-year-old 9. Mantinello in exotics.
How to play it: Mr Bond to win. Odds and Evens: Evens

Competitive stoush over the mile.Like lightly raced 4. Mouvement to strike second-up. Had support when finding the well at Newcastle, and this is a nice progression over a further 200m.
Dangers: Tough gelding 1. Go Gazza can win fourth-up, with a senior metro rider going on. Charged late to miss narrowly at Kembla. Press Statement gelding 2. Law Party has been costly for punters this prep, and was no match for the well backed winner at Nowra last start. Must be some query running out a strong mile. Expect 3. Trojan Hero to keep improving after hitting the line at big odds at only second start, and again draws the inside gate.
How to play it: Mouvement to win. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 4 PROV & CTRY MAIDEN HCP (1200m): |

Intriguing maiden with plenty of debutants on show. One of them, Criterion filly 3. Cloud Hopper can strike off two progressive trials, the latest strong through the line on a Heavy rating. Debuts in blinkers for a good sprinting stable, and was preferred here to Nowra on Monday.
Dangers: Rich Enuff "Boo Boo" filly 5. Pretty Enuff made up a tonne of ground in a recent trial, and this looks an ideal trip to start her career over. Provincial filly 1. Miss Checkconi was easy in betting at her third start, but still hit the line impressively, and drew to get cover. Big gap to the rest.
How to play it: Cloud Hopper to win and quinella 3 and 5. Odds and Evens: Odds

Open dash for the youngsters, with plenty of tactical pressure. Smart provincial filly 14. Rapid Response debuts full of confidence having won two recent soft track trials, the latest cruising home by more than four lengths. Is by dual Group 3 winner Defcon, and draws okay.
Dangers: Progressive gelding 7. Single Honor stuck on well debuting at Hawkesbury behind a smart one who then scored a dominant win in a provincial BM 64. Was good enough to debut in stronger juvenile company earlier in the year, and this looks ideal with winkers applied, and one of the stronger riders in the country steering. Was scratched from Nowra on Monday to run here. Big market watch on 3. Hauraki Gulf who resumes as a gelding for leading metro yard, and won the second of two lead-up trials. Keep safe Frosted filly 10. The Globe who resumes off a long break and tidy trial; while debutant Deep Field colt 9. Vindication goes into wider exotics.
How to play it: Rapid Response to win and first four 7,14/3,7,10,14/3,7,9,10,14/3,7,9,10,14. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 6 CLASS 1 HCP (1600m): |

Tough Pierro three-year-old 3. Bob gets his chance to finally claim a second win deep into this prep. Has fought tenaciously to miss narrowly in last two in provincial BM 64 grade, and dropping back to the mile around a tighter circuit is a key move.
Dangers: Expect further improvement over more ground from four-year-old imported stallion 1. Sidereal after a solid enough Australian debut at Newcastle. Another stallion, 5. Speedzone can peak third-up ridden a little quieter.
How to play it: Bob to win. Odds and Evens: Odds
Race 7 BENCHMARK 64 (1300m): |
---|
Ex-South Australian provincial mare 10. Born To Play can peak second-up for the new stable.
Dangers: Disappointing mare 9. Eye See Things has been placed eight times from 11 runs, with only one win, and beaten as favourite in her last three. Better when ridden quieter, but will still need to do everything right from the wide draw.
How to play it: Born To Play win. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 8 CLASS 1 HCP (1000m): |

We wrap up over the sprint course, and ultra keen on Zoustar filly 5. Never Second resuming for just her fourth start. Was a dominant heavy track trial winner earlier this month, and bolted in on debut last spring.
Dangers: Promising filly 4. Head On Up is a clear threat resuming off two impressive trials, and led all the way to win her maiden first-up last time. Conversely 3. Star Cherie has had three runs this prep, right on the winner's heels in her last two; while 2. Amungee returned with a dominant provincial maiden win, and bred to excel on rain-affected ground.
How to play it: Never Second to win and box trifecta 2,3,4,5. Odds and Evens: Split
