The youngsters get us rolling at set weights on a track that will continue to dry out. Progressive Godolphin filly 9. Victorine worked home late in a handy fresh run on the Kensington track, and draws to get ideal cover off the speed up in trip.
Dangers: Fastnet Rock filly 5. Bessmati gets a significant drop in quality at his third start after a well beaten but fair effort in Listed metro company 10 days ago. The best weighted runner in the race carrying only 1kg more, and suited now over more ground. Gap to the rest headed by Smart Missile colt 1. Blue Canasta who gets firs use of the inside behind two improving trials; while include Pierro colt 4. Glowsticks in exotic bets debuting in blinkers.
How to play it: Victorine to win. Odds and Evens: Odds
Race 2 4YO & UP MAIDEN HCP (1100m): |

The older maiden sprinters are a more even lot. Progressive mare 2. Hasalake has never missed a place in six starts, but let punters down resuming when she was backed into an odds-on fancy at Gosford, but didn't finish off. That said, she was first-up for more than 10 months in a race with potentially good depth, and staying at this distance can open her account.
Dangers: Despite being a likely improver third-up, 10. Latin Lyric looks under the odds drawn wide ahead of her 17th start; while watch the betting on country mare 4. Una Grew Roses on debut behind two trial wins.
How to play it: Hasalake to win. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 3 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1100m): |

Another maiden best remembered for Willie Pike's first ride in NSW, although doubt there'll be any opening joy. Different story, though, for Sharmadal filly 4. Camino Real who returns after a near year-long absence. Has had two progressive trials leading in, cruising over the line under a throttlehold in the second, and can park off the speed with cover and produce a dominant final 400m. Should measure up soon to Saturday class.
Dangers: Home track three-year-old 1. Fielding has gone under both runs this prep at a short price, although little drop back in trip is a plus. Improving colt 2. Captain George and 3. Oakfield Storm on debut can fight out the minor end of the prize.
How to play it: Camino Real to win. Odds and Evens: Split

With many of these resuming, or likely getting ready for longer journeys, progressive colt 7. Sing A Love Song won't get a better chance to open his account fourth-up at start 10. Did his best work late from a mile back at the Gold Coast before settling closer & finishing well enough to only miss by a long neck on the Kensington track carrying half kilo more. Draws to get a soft run just off the speed.
Dangers: Progressive filly 9. Definitely Maybe was good on debut driving home late to miss narrowly on the Beaumont track when well supported, and bred to relish the extra 200m.
How to play it: Sing A Love Song to win. Odds and Evens: Odds

Promising Reliable Man filly 4. Pono Kitoro re-loads where he made a big impression on debut sweeping home from well back to easily claim his maiden in early November. Was put out straight away, and given two soft trials to prepare. Worth noting she's a $51.00 chance in early Group 1 Australian Oaks betting.
Dangers: Expecting a big run from honest filly 3. Lekvarte first-up for 10 weeks with blinkers off & via a sound trial; while 6. Divine Future heads the rest fifth-up from a soft draw.
How to play it: Pono Kitoro to win. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 6 CLASS 1 HCP (1000m): |

Tricky race with several chances. Progressive home track three-year-old 2. Barney Rabblecan make it two wins from his last three at good odds. Dominated form the front to win his maiden eight weeks back before just felt the pressure late in BM 64 grade. Has tactical speed, and this is more to his liking.
Dangers: Promising and lightly raced metro filly 6. Prudish was double figure odds when charging home to beat a useful provincial maiden field first-up. Draws to again settle back, and repeat the dose. Godolphin filly 1. Translation has trialled well ahead of her first run in NSW since early November when she was right behind the place-getters at the provincials. Has campaigned okay in deeper metro races in Victoria, although the relative depth of form south of the border is poor. Improving four-year-old 5. Native Rock looks over the odds fourth-up from the inside draw.
How to play it: Barney Rabble each way and trifecta 1,2,6/1,2,5,6/1,2,5,6. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 7 COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 64 HCP (1350m) |

Very keen on smart and lightly raced Star Turn three-year-old 4. Rebel County first-up from a six month spell with a string of important gear changes. Won two from three up to the mile in his initial prep, and fitted with two quiet trials. The one to beat.
Dangers: Expect hard fit 5. Rumpshaker to give a sight after finally breaking a run of outs fourth-up at Kembla when he finished best from just off the speed. Keep safe resuming four-year-old 7. Stay Wealthy off a quiet trial; while 1. Fenech fifth-up; and 9. Onehelvason behind a country maiden win third-up; are both in the each way mix.
How to play it: Rebel County to win. Odds and Evens: Split
Race 8 CLASS 1 HCP - RISING STAR (1200m): |

Sticking with improving four-year-old 1. Amortal on the seven day back-up. Didn't get a lot of room when it mattered in a stronger CL1 at Hawkesbury but still found the line well, and suited over 100m further with a superior and form jockey taking over.
Dangers: Lightly raced three-year-old 3. Silver City rewarded punters with a smart first-up win, and draws inside carrying 2kg less after the claim. Keep safe 2. First Peoples who has trialled well since a maiden win at Taree six weeks ago; while 5. Camplin third-up is best of the rest.
How to play it: Amortal to win. Odds and Evens: Odds
