John Schell's Tips For Kembla Grange (Tuesday)

By John Schell

Selections based on a good track

Race 1 - 1:50PM GO HAWKS IN THE PLAYOFFS PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 (1000 METRES)

1. Love The Cube has only had the four starts but has a win and two placings to his name. He resumed from a spell with a second at Goulburn when racing well and he only needs to run up to that effort in order to be a leading chance here. 4. Ghielmi won his second start at this track and then ran third here when last produced. He is showing talent and shouldn’t be discarded. 6. Listins Lass was heavily backed at big odds at Scone last time out and got the job done. 2. Presides has a solid record and resumes from a spell here. He is suited and is worth plenty of thought if at his best.

How to play it: Love The Cube WIN.

Race 2 - 2:25PM GOOD LUCK DRAGONS FOR 2025 MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

1. Moonlight Gambler has had two starts and ran well on debut when finishing third before a fifth at Canberra on the Acton track. He resumes here and looks set to run well on the back of a couple of solid trials. 2. Faceoff has been unplaced in each of his two starts but he’s shown enough talent to be rated a chance here. 9. Tiffy is yet to figure in the placings in her career, but she has shown enough potential to be given a hope. 4. Anne was placed on debut at Hawkesbury, and she can show up again here with a repeat of that effort.

How to play it: Moonlight Gambler WIN.

Race 3 - 3:05PM KEMBLA CLASSIC TWILIGHT RACES 14/3 MIDWAY MAIDEN (1500M)

3. Call Me Son debuted at Hawkesbury when well in the market and was midfield. He had a solid grounding with a number of trials leading into that and looks primed to run well leading into this. 2. Strawberry Impact debuted with a close-up effort at Newcastle and if he can run up to that effort, he should be hard to hold out again. 6. Khant Fail has been placed in two of her four starts and she’s had to trials leading into this first-up run. She looks set to run well. 7. Floral Legend was in the market when failing to beat a runner home at Canterbury when last produced but she has had a trial since then and finished fourth in that.

How to play it: Call Me Son WIN.

Race 4 - 3:40PM THE WARRA CLUB PARTNERSHIP 2025 SUPER MAIDEN PLATE (1200M)

2. Fast Track is a well-bred filly on debut here and she’s had a number of trials leading into this. She won the latest of them at Randwick and looks poised to run well here. 5. Lira looked good in two trials before debuting with a third at Hawkesbury when starting favourite. 4. Handkerchief wasn’t beaten far despite finishing last on debut at Warwick Farm and then ran third at Wyong when last produced. She can show up here without surprising. 9. Twinkling Star ran an improved race when a last start fourth at Hawkesbury and the small field brings her into this.

How to play it: Fast Track WIN.

Race 5 - 4:20PM GOLDEN HAMMER TRADIES FOOT RACE MARCH 14TH C1 (1200M)

7. Written Scandal ran second on debut at Hawkesbury and then resumed last time out with a solid win at Wyong when starting favourite. She looks to be a talented filly and should be primed to run well. 2. Shirvington was midfield on debut at Newcastle and then resumed with a win at Wyong last month. He’s a talented type that warrants respect. 8. Our Little Star won well at Hawkesbury last time out and could go in with the job despite the wide gate. 1. Khaznah finished a solid second at Wyong two starts ago then wasn’t beaten too far when ninth on the Kensington track. She is not out of this.

How to play it: Written Scandal WIN.

Race 6 - 4:55PM SOUTHERN CROSS GROUP SERVICES BM64 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

5. Our Uptown Girl was placed at Warwick Farm when resuming from a spell and then scored a last start win at Newcastle when justifying short-priced favouritism. She can go on with the job here. 4. Longinus fought on well at Scone when resuming and he can go on with the job here. 2. Satness has been racing well with second placings in each of his latest two starts and another bold showing is on the cards. 1. Blow In was narrowly beaten into second placing at the Sapphire Coast at his latest start and shouldn’t be underestimated in this line-up.

How to play it: Our Uptown Girl WIN.

Race 7 - 5:30PM PFD FOOD SERVICES CONDITIONAL BM68 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

3. Interjection has only had five starts but has had two wins and three placings. He’s had two trials leading into this and should be primed to run well. 1. Code In Time has a great record with four wins and six seconds from 14 starts and he looks set to run well again here if he’s at his best. 2. This Is The Moment was a winner here two starts ago then was down the track in the Four Pillars before being spelled. He resumes here after a good recent trial. 7. Fortingall has had two runs back from a spell and wasn’t beaten far at Hawkesbury in the latest of them.

How to play it: Interjection WIN.

Best Bets:
Race 2 (1) Moonlight Gambler.
Race 5 (7) Written Scandal.

Best Value:
Race 7 (4) Aunty Rene.
