Ible To Continue Hot Streak In Lucky Last (Kembla, Tuesday)

Trainer Joseph Ible will leave it late to launch his Kembla Grange assault on Tuesday but expects the talented Flower Press to be worth the wait on his home track.

Flower Press ($8.50 on TAB) will fly the flag for the Ible yard in the final event on the seven-race card in the Cataract Benchmark 64 Handicap (1300m).

The daughter of Press Statement has recently recaptured her best under her new trainer after starting her career under the late, great conditioner Gwenda Markwell.

Flower Press won her first two starts for Ible at the beginning of this preparation at Canberra and the Sapphire Coast before being tested in Midway grade last start where she finished eighth.

"She is going well," Ible said.

"Not much went right in the Midway last start but back to provincial grade she should run well from a good draw."

Ible has booked Keegan Latham to pilot Flower Press for the first time this preparation.

He is hoping the talented provincial jockey can make the most of the inside draw with Flower Press unlikely to take the leading role she has at her past three starts.

"I would like to see her take a sit from the barrier, she got a bit fired up in the Midway the other day," Ible said.

"When she led the other day in that race she got a bit fired up so I would like to see her settle behind a few horses and from barrier one she should be able to do that."

Godolphin galloper Jewellery is the TAB $2.40 favourite.

Ible also accepted with Cuban Granchico but after drawing barrier 13 with the topweight of 61kg, Ible has elected to wait until another day with the five-year-old.

"We will wait until the Kensington meeting on Friday," he confirmed.

Ible, who had a pair of winners at the Sapphire Coast over the two-day carnival, is enjoying a purple patch with nine winners from his past 24 starters around the state.

"I think everything is going well," he said. "We have got to the point where we've got rid of a few horses that weren't up to the grade and we are going through one of those patches where everything falls into line."
