Trainer Clarry Conners is hoping his second attempt to unleash unraced filly First Class Molley ($7 on TAB) will go a better script at Kembla Grange on Saturday after his speedy sprinter made a false start to her career earlier this month.
First Class Molley was set to make her debut at Wyong a fortnight ago but was unfortunately scratched at the gates after getting her head over the barriers.
Conners insists the daughter of Overshare came through the incident completely fine but has given Fire Classy Molley a tick over trial at Warwick Farm earlier this week in preparation for her second attempt to debut.
The filly will get the chance to break her maiden at the first time of asking in the Dapto Maiden Plate (1000m) this weekend.
"She goes pretty good and has trialled nicely a couple of times," Conners said.
"I think she has got a bit of a future. She has got speed and is a solid type.
"We had a couple of little minor problems getting to the races up until now but she goes pretty good.
"There are a couple of trainers that have horses that go OK too I think."
First Class Molley has been the subject of a sustained betting move since TAB markets opened for Kembla Grange on Friday morning.
Her opening price of $13 was slashed to $7 for her debut assignment by midday where the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained Boston City is the $3.80 favourite.
Winona Costin, who steered home a treble at Muswellbrook on Monday, will pilot First Class Molley from barrier eight with the plan to send the filly forward from the gate as she has done in her trials.
"We will sit outside the lead or lead," Conners said. "The 1000m will just be a starting point for her and I think she will get up to 1200m in time possibly but probably not much further."
Conners was confident First Class Molley would go through her grades but wasn't willing to make any bold predictions for the filly's future.
She is one of four first starts in the opening event on the card at Kembla with Joseph Pride (All Too Rosey-$26), Gary Portelli (I'm Brazilian-$41) as well as Robert and Luke Price (Gone Far-$13) all unveiling three-year-olds.
Racing jumps from 1.15pm for the seven-event card.
