Newcastle mare High Rush, unbeaten in two starts this preparation, is set to complete the hat-trick when she contests the final event, the Wyong Race Club-Membership only $55, Benchmark 64 (1350m) at Wyong on Thursday. The four-year-old has an outstanding fresh record and she led all the way first-up at Scone on April 8.
High Rush ($4.40 on TAB fixed odds) was impressive second-up over this course on this track three weeks ago when she outgunned her rivals in the run home. She has the impost of 59½kg but she did carry 61kg at Scone.
Samantha Clenton has ridden High Rush in both wins this preparation and the Muswellbrook apprentice has the mount on Thursday.
RACE 1, KOOINDAH WATERS-RACE STAY & PLAY MAIDEN, 1000M: River Bird is the odds-on favourite at $1.45 when she resumes from a five-month spell. The filly has won two recent trials at Warwick Farm and Canterbury. Last prep she was narrowly beaten in three Canterbury Maidens and she appears a class above these. She’s My Girl ($8.50) resumes after a long spell and she has won three recent trials. Manly Cove ($5) has a place chance.
SELECTIONS: 5 RIVER BIRD, 6 SHE’S MY GIRL, 1 MANLY COVE
RACE 2, CENTRAL COAST LEAGUES CLUB MAIDEN PLATE, 2100M: A wide-open affair with the three-year-olds The Boomerang ($4.60) and Prince Camelot ($4.60) leading contenders after they were both placed in the same race on this track on May 2. The Boomerang was run down late when second a long head behind Cleverly and that was only his second start. Prince Camelot was more than a length behind The Boomerang and he is also lightly-raced. Road To Blue Sky ($3.30 favourite) drops in class and is racing okay.
SELECTIONS: 10 THE BOOMERANG, 9 PRINCE CAMELOT, 4 ROAD TO BLUE SKY
RACE 3, CLUB TOUKLEY RSL 3YO MAIDEN, 1350M: Embracer ($1.22 fav) was beaten a length on debut at Warwick Farm on May 1 after racing outside the leader. SELECTIONS: 1 EMBRACER, 7 SMART DECISION, 2 TASK AND PURPOSE
RACE 4, TOUKLEY GOLF CLUB 2YO MAIDEN PLATE, 1100M: Blazing Miss ($2.40 fav) is a Group 3 placegetter with the speed to overcome the wide barrier. Hey Mighty ($6.50) and Mini Boom ($5) are stablemates and both won recent trials.

RACE 6, WYONG GOLF CLUB LTD CLASS 1, 1600M: Seeingisbelieving ($2.30 fav) has 60kg, however, he is in top form and should have a nice trail from the soft barrier. Pick Of The Day ($3.10) wasn’t far away first-up at Newcastle and she had sound metropolitan form last prep. Our Fun ($5.50) was an easy Kembla winner on debut.
