Punters will be able to have an in-depth look at just how champion Winx performs in her rehearsal at Royal Randwick on Saturday through Punters Intel data.
The champion mare and her five companions in the 1200m trial at 2.35pm will carry the Longines tracking chips to provide punters with a breakdown of her gallop and the ultimate guide to how she is shaping up for her long awaited return in two weeks.
The data will be available through the Punters Intel app, which can be downloaded here, later in day.
The trial is being treated like a mini-race for Winx by trainer Chris Waller who says it is an important step in her preparation for the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) on March 3.
“It will simulate the race day experience which is always good for her,’’ Waller said on his stable update video.
“It’ll be good for me, even I feel the race day nerves like everybody and this is just like a pre-season game for any sporting team.
“We’re looking forward to Saturday, hoping she works well to proceed through to the Chipping Norton.’’
Jockey Hugh Bowman will be fitted with a camera to capture rare vision of the gallop, with the vision to be displayed shortly after the gallop, and a microphone so punters can hear his comments as the gallop proceeds.
Waller said the gallop will be important for stablemates like Sydney Cup bound Who Shot Thebarman and promising filly Unforgotten, who has a Group 1 assignment first-up.
“They are all there for their own benefit but to help Winx as well,’’ Waller said.
They will all be doing their own thing but it’s an important stepping stone for her, we’re going to take her up to a mile first-up which will be no problem.’’
It’s closing on three years since Winx was last beaten in a race and her winning streak stretches 22 starts, including 15 at Group 1 level.
Following the Chipping Norton she’s expected to tackle the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes before a decision is made whether she defends her Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes crown on April 14.
The gallop will be discussed in detail by Brad Gray, Brad Davidson and Gerard Middleton on Tuesday night's Punters Intel show at 7pm on Sky Thoroughbred Central.
