All declared starters for Saturday's Schweppes Sydney Cup have today been the subject of an examination performed by Racing NSW Veterinary Officers.
Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Carly Garling has notified Stewards that all runners, except for VALIANT KING and ZARIR, have been assessed as being suitable to race.
Dr Garling has advised that VALIANT KING was initially found to have an issue with its near fore foot which improved with the application of ¾ plates in front.
VALIANT KING will race with 3/4 plates in front should it take its place in the race.
Dr Garling also advised that ZARIR was found to be mildly lame in the off-hind leg.
A further veterinary examination of VALIANT KING and ZARIR will be conducted tomorrow morning, prior to the scratching deadline, to assess their suitability to race.
