Trainer Reports To Stewards - Te Akau Shark (Update)

Trainer Jamie Richards has advised Racing NSW Stewards that Te Akau Shark sustained mild bruising to the sole of the off fore foot following him racing in the George Ryder Stakes on at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 21 March 2020.

He further advised that the gelding consequently was given a few days of swimming but has not missed any fast work. The stable farrier has now applied synthetic hoof filler to the foot to assist the gelding and Mr Richards has advised he is pleased with the horse leading into Saturday’s Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

[Update Monday at 3:25pm]: Racing NSW Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Toby Koenig, this afternoon conducted an inspection of Te Akau Shark following a report from trainer Jamie Richards this morning. Dr Koenig advised the gelding was passed suitable to race and will be subject to a further examination when it arrives on course on Saturday.
