Sydney's Spring Carnival Continues At Royal Randwick For City Tattersalls Club Cup Day

Royal Randwick’s spectacular Spring Carnival continues this Saturday as the Australian Turf Club joins with one of its longest-standing partners for City Tattersalls Club Cup Day.

Just a week after a record crowd for The $13 million TAB Everest meeting, Royal Randwick hosts a nine-race card including the Group 3 $160,000 ICD Property Nivison Stakes, Listed $140,000 City Tattersalls Club Cup and the Listed $150,000 Southern Cross Group Brian Crowley Stakes.

Top Sydney jockey Jason Collett is looking to continue a remarkable record in two of Saturday’s feature races, and is also aboard the hot favourite in the City Tattersalls Club Cup.

Collett has ridden the previous two winners of the ICD Property Nivison Stakes and the past three winners of the Southern Cross Group Brian Crowley Stakes.

He rides Almanzora ($13 TAB Fixed Odds) for Godolphin in the ICD Property Nivison Stakes and Jonker ($8.50 TAB Fixed Odds) in the Southern Cross Group Brian Crowley Stakes. And Collett is riding High Bridge ($2 TAB Fixed Odds) for champion Sydney trainer Chris Waller in the City Tattersalls Club Cup – a race which has been used in previous years as a late launching pad for the Melbourne Cup.

The Royal Randwick course proper was rated a Heavy 8 on Thursday morning, with forecast rain due to fall over coming days.

“We may get back into the Soft range during Friday but if the forecast rain does arrive on Saturday we would be heading back toward a Heavy range,” Royal Randwick Track Manager Nevesh Ramdhani said.

General admission tickets pre-purchased at theraces.com.au are just $17 this Saturday, with children under the age of 18 admitted free.

Free pony rides will be available for children on the Family Lawn from 11.30am.

2019 Membership to the ATC is also available online or on course on Saturday, with those who join or renew their Membership receiving six complimentary guest passes to selected racedays.
Members guest passes can also be purchased for this Saturday for $60.

A range of food outlets are open across public and Members spaces this Saturday, including Eat Street on the Leger Lawn for general admission customers.

Beverage bars include the Moet and Chandon pop-up bar and Moet Vending Machine on the Members Lawn, Chandon pop-up bar on the Shannon Lawn and the Pimms Horse Float on the Leger Lawn.

Travel to and from Royal Randwick on Sydney trains, buses, ferries and light rail services is included in pre-purchased general admission tickets, along with ATC Annual Membership cards.

Royal Randwick and all ATC racecourses provide free parking and free high capacity WiFi.
