Spring Hopes Begin To Bloom At Clubs NSW Western Metro Region Race Day At Rosehill

Rosehill Gardens will feel Spring in the air at ClubsNSW Western Metro Region Raceday this Saturday as a classy group of three year olds head toward some major targets.

Saturday’s $150,000 listed Smithfield RSL Club Rosebud will plant the first seeds of Spring campaigns ahead of a series of races towards Rosehill Gardens’ $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose in September.

The James Cummings Godolphin colt Plague Stone is a warm $2.60 TAB Fixed Odds favourite on Saturday, ahead of the Kim Waugh trained Oxford Tycoon ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds).

In coming weeks, three year old colts and fillies will contest several features leading up to the $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose on 22 September, including:

  • $200,000 Group 2 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes and $150,000 Group 2 Up and Coming Stakes at Royal Randwick (18 August);
  • $150,000 Group 3 San Domenico Stakes and $150,000 Group 3 Ming Dynasty at Rosehill Gardens (25 August);
