Rosehill Gardens will host the final day of the 2017/18 season, ATC Owners Recognition Race Day, this Saturday 28 July.
To thank owners for their support and participation at one of the Australian Turf Club’s venues this season, the Club has named the race day in their honour and will distribute a range of awards to recognise successes in metropolitan racing at a morning tea prior to the running of Race 1.
While the titles for the NSW Metropolitan Trainers Premiership (Chris Waller) and NSW Metropolitan Jockey Premiership (Brenton Avdulla) have been finalised, the race for the NSW Apprentice Premiership continues between Rachel King and Jean Van Overmeire.
King will partner with Special Missile ($7.00 TAB Fixed Odds) for John Thompson in the day’s feature race, the Listed $150,000 Winter Challenge.
The four-year-old gelding placed third last start in the Listed Winter Stakes on 14 July.
Van Overmeire takes the ride on Kim Waugh-trained Shiraz ($17.00 TAB Fixed Odds). Shiraz finished in sixth to Special Missile in the Winter Stakes in his last run.
Market odds for the full program on Saturday and Monday are available at TAB.com.au
The Rosehill Gardens track was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning and a full report by Shaun Patterson, Rosehill Gardens Track Manager, is available here.
The first race is at 11.45am and last race at 4.40pm. Gates open at 10.30am.
