The Australian Turf Club and Randwick City Council Randwick join at Royal Randwick this Saturday for a host of free entertainment for families and a chance to meet some of the stars of Sydney racing and sport at Randwick Community Raceday.

Free entry to Saturday’s nine-race card is on offer for Randwick City Council residents who have redeemed an online code via their council rate notices, or show proof of residence at the box office.

Members of the Sydney Roosters rugby league club and Sydney Sixers cricket club can receive free entry to Royal Randwick this Saturday by entering a promotional code at theraces.com.au or showing their valid membership cards at the box office.

All children under the age of 18 when permanently accompanied by a parent or guardian are admitted free to all Australian Turf Club racecourses.

The Sydney Roosters will lead skills clinics from 11.00am, while the Sydney Sixers will host a Fan Zone including a slide and bowling tunnel with players Jack Edwards and Lauren Cheatle on hand from 10.30am.

Top Sydney jockeys Tim Clark and Kathy O’Hara will meet fans and sign autographs near the Octagonal Lawn from 12.20pm, followed by jockeys Blake Shinn and Rachel King at 1pm.

A huge array of free entertainment will be on offer for children and families including a live performance by the viral sensation Pinkfong Baby Shark and superhero favourites Justice League on the Centennial Lawn.

Youngsters can sit on-board a garbage truck, take front seat in a police car and police motorbike, enjoy pony rides, meet a T-Rex, design a Dino Egg at the Dinosaur Adventure Park and enjoy themselves on jumping castles and a carousel across the Rose Garden Lawn and Octagonal Lawn. Fairy floss and popcorn will be available with all gold coin donations going to the ATC Foundation, whilst Sydney Children’s Hospital will host a gold-coin donation sausage sizzle.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Commercial Corina Black said families can enjoy Saturday racing along with a wide variety of free entertainment options across Royal Randwick’s spacious lawns.

“Randwick Community Raceday is one of our most popular days of the year for families and friends, and the Australian Turf Club is delighted to join with Randwick City Council to offer something for everyone,’’ Ms Black said.

The Royal Randwick track was rated a Heavy 8 on Thursday morning following 2mm of rain early Thursday.
