Rosehill Gardens Warms Up For Winter Racing & Lord Mayors Cup

Racing returns to Rosehill Gardens this Saturday after a five-week break with the running of the $200,000 Listed-Lord Mayors Cup – the first of a series of winter middle distance and staying features in Sydney.

The 79th renewal of the Lord Mayors Cup won last year by recent Group 1 winner Bois D’Argent has attracted 14 entries, part of a massive 178 acceptances across the 10-race card.

Chris Waller trained Waterford after an unlucky last start second in the Scone Cup and is the $4 into $3.70 TAB favourite for Saturday with Josh Parr aboard.

Williamsburg saddled up by Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou for jockey Zac Lloyd is the $4.60 TAB second favourite (firming from $6) ahead of Sir Lucan ($5.50) trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and to be ridden by Winona Costin, making her return to Sydney Saturday racing.

The Annabel Neasham-trained Sibaaq is next at $7 for jockey Kerrin McEvoy.

Following Saturday, middle distance and staying features will include the $200,000 Listed-Winter Cup over 2400m at Rosehill Gardens on 15 June and the Listed-WJ McKell Cup over 2000m on 29 June at Rosehill Gardens.

Saturday sees the second offering of the ATC’s new Winter Long Lunch – a $155 three-course dining sensation in Rosehill Gardens’ premium Winning Post restaurant.

Full details of Saturday’s offer are available HERE.

The Winter Long Lunch will officially launch Saturday 25 May and run until 31 August, available for both ATC Members and non-members.

This exclusive offer allows guests to enjoy a luxurious culinary journey curated by renowned Executive Chefs, Craig Knudsen and Chris Reali, commencing with a glass of Moët & Chandon champagne on arrival.
