Nothing but quotes from jockey Glyn Schofield on all six of his rides at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
Osorno ($7 TAB) – Race 1 TAB Plate (1100m)
Last run: 5th to Performer, 1000m, at Randwick, September 30
“He ran in the Breeders’ Plate and copped a check so there’s a forgive there but he finished off well. He gave me a good feel in his trial and I’m confident he will run well.''
Kennedy ($6) – Race 2 Wilkes Quality (1100m)
Last run: 3rd to Pendeloque, 1000m, at Randwick, January 13
“It looked like there was loads of speed in the race (at Randwick) and they all held up. Slowly run races when you’re out wide are a nightmare and he was pretty strong on the line.
“He’s tough and strong as he showed last start. It’s a stronger race which is why he is down in weight but he is in good form so that stands him in good stead.’’

Reiby The Red ($10) – Race 3 Owners Forum @ Royal Randwick Handicap (1500m)
Last run: 4th to Embley, 1600m, at Randwick, September 16
“His first trial was without the blinkers on and he didn’t do a great deal. He led in his second trial.
“I think he has a bit of improvement to come out of the run, he did trial nicely but there wasn’t any pressure put on him.’’
Merovee ($6) – Race 5 Chris Toogood Farewell Handicap (1300m)
Last run: 2nd to Astoria, 1600m, at Newcastle September 15
“It was a quiet (second) trial based on the speed they went (behind Super Too over 800m), he didn’t have the speed to keep up in that trial but he did trial comfortably.
“Another furlong or two he would have worked into it nicely and he gave a good feel.’’
Prized Icon ($12) – Race 7 Carrington Stakes (1400m)
Last run: 11th to Order Again, 2200m, Eagle Farm, May 27
“He trialled nicely (at Wyong) and showed that little bit of speed. He’ll need freshness in his legs to be competitive or expected to win first-up but he looks in good shape.
“I can’t see any reason he won’t run extremely well. If he wins it then it keeps everybody happy but if he comes back and shows he’s ready for a great preparation regardless of where he runs that’s the most important thing.
“He doesn’t do a great deal in the morning, he’s quite a casual worker so I’m sure the race will give everyone a good idea of where he’s at in his prep. But his trial suggested he’s quite forward.’’
Emperor’s Way ($3.70) – Race 8 ATC Owners Benefit Card Handicap (1800m)
Last run: 1st at Randwick, 1800m, January 13.
“It was quite a strong win the other day. It was nice to see him dash through a narrow run when it presented so he does show a turn of speed and is strong at the death.
“A repeat performance puts him in the finish again.’’
