Melody Belle Passed Suitable To Race Following Inspection

Racing NSW Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Toby Koenig this morning examined Melody Belle, an acceptor in this Saturday’s Iron Jack Missile Stakes, following a report from trainer Jamie Richards that the mare had developed a skin rash on her chest.

Dr Koenig has reported that there is no pain or swelling associated with the area and the condition is not infectious. Accordingly, Melody Belle has been passed suitable to race.

Melody Belle will race without the use of a breast plate. A photograph showing the rash is below.
