John Schell' Tips For Canterbury (Friday)

Race 1 - 6:00PM TAB PLATE (1200 METRES)

4. Namaste had looked good in a couple of trials before debuting as favourite at Wyong and running well enough when finishing third. He should have derived benefit from that performance, and he can go on with the job here. 3. Michelangelo has had two trials and been safely held in each of them. Bold debut showing is on the cards. 6. Triumvirate is also on debut and is a winner of both his trials leading into this. He is primed to run well. 8. Custom is on debut for Godolphin and wasn’t far away in her latest trial behind a classy one.

Race 2 - 6:30PM DRINKWISE PLATE (1250 METRES)

3. The Enchanter is yet to miss a place from three starts and he’s finished third in each of his latest two runs at this track. He should race on the speed and take plenty of running down. 2. Signor Tortoni led and just held off The Enchanter when a last start second at this track at just his second start in a race. 10. Super Eclipse is on debut and has been showing improvement in her trials. 9. Scalable debuted with a midfield effort here and bears close watching.

Race 3 - 7:00PM TOYOTA FORKLIFTS HANDICAP (1550 METRES)

8. Shanoni was on debut when hitting the line well enough to finish fourth here two weeks ago. She’s drawn well enough here to get a good run in transit, and she should run boldly. 1. Pink Shalala has only missed a place once from five starts and ran second on the Kensington track when last produced. 2. Delrico has also been placed in four of five starts and he battled on well to finish third at his latest outing. 9. Tel Aviv has had a trial since a midfield debut effort at Kembla Grange.

Race 4 - 7:30PM ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP (1550 METRES)

2. Bright Red has been racing well with city placings in four of her five starts since resuming from a spell. She ran third to the talented Perfumist at her latest start and can bounce back to winning form here. 5. Heed The Omens ran home well to finish second to stablemate Pretty Powerful here two weeks ago and can show up again. 7. Little Baia is rarely far away and can figure again from the good gate. 1. Destiny’s Delight hit the line well for a resuming second at Warwick Farm.

Race 5 - 8:00PM 2025 STUD AND STABLE STAFF AWARDS HANDICAP (1900 METRES)

5. Frankly Elegant is a talented mare that has finished second in all three runs since resuming from a spell. She has the advantage of gate one here and is an on-pace runner that can take plenty of running down this time. 4. Barazin won well at Kembla Grage two starts ago then ran a good race when fifth on the Kensington track last time out. 2. Go Troppo comes out of the same Kensington race and can sneak into the placings here. 1. Holstein has ability on his day and can show up here if he can improve on his latest effort.

Race 6 - 8:30PM PALACE PIER @ DARLEY HANDICAP (1250 METRES)

3. Flying Thinker has a good record with three wins from five starts. She dominated from the front when resuming with a Newcastle victory and while this is tougher, she has the ability to go on with the job. 3. Codetta won three in a row either side of a spell and has run well in two subsequent starts.7. Scintilla won well here two weeks ago and warrants respect again from the good gate. 8. Zan won well at this track back in November and has the talent to make an impact again.

How to play it: Flying Thinker WIN ($5.00 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 7 - 9:00PM KIA EVENING STAR (1100 METRES)

4. Memoria is a talented mare resuming from a spell and she has had two trials to prepare. She is a winner of three from four when resuming and can be expected to sprint well fresh again. 7. Welcome Gypsy has been racing in great form with wins at her latest two starts at Wyong. She can give cheek again. 1. One Destiny was in fine form at the end of his last campaign with a number of city victories included in his form. He can improve on his resuming effort. 6. Vegas Raider hasn’t been far away in three runs back from a break and is ready to peak.

How to play it: Memoria EACH WAY ($6.50 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 8 - 9:30PM THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE HANDICAP (1250 METRES)

1. Oakfield Duke has had two starts back from a spell and has performed well in each of them at Randwick and Rosehill when not beaten too far in either. He was a winner at this track over this distance last July and he should be hitting the line well. 5. So Good So Cool has finished third in both runs back from a spell and gets his chance to show up from the inside gate. 6. Fury hit the line hard from back in the field to be beaten narrowly into second at Newcastle when resuming and he has claims again. 10. Bartolf failed on a very heavy track last time out but can show
improvement on a drier surface.
