Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $200,000 The Nivison (1200m) at Royal Randwick.
Regan Bayliss (Sky Command): “I thought I’m going straight to the fence, straight to the top. A little bit surprising she (Expat) missed the kick but we had to grab the bull by the horns and roll straight to the top. We did a little bit of work early too so she loves wet tracks. Gerald (Ryan) and Sterling (Alexiou) have got her ticking over lovely and it’s an important win for her CV today.
“I asked Tyler Schiller, he rode her last start, and he said that she just wasn’t one hundred percent last start so she ran it out strongly today, especially as she had to do a little bit of work, so she was strong through the line and she’s an honest mare and it was a good win.”

Jason Collett (Never Talk): “Great effort from back in that position to make the ground she did.”
Nash Rawiller (Heresy): “She was awesome. Came from a long way back and hit the line well.”
Tommy Berry (Charleise): “We were in trouble after 100m.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Promise Of Success): “She just dipped really badly a couple of times. She was great in herself. Look for her to improve off that run on better ground.”
Tom Sherry (Expat): “Disappointing. She is better when she can dictate the race. She is just not jumping as well as she does.”
Rachel King (Larkspur Run): “She probably just wanted to race a little bit fresh on that very testing track.”
Reece Jones (Jal Lei): “Got into a nice spot. Shortly after straightening she lost her balance, fell into the fence and that was the end for me.”
Brenton Avdulla (Duchy Of Savoy): “She just struggled in the ground.”
Tyler Schiller (One Aye): “She was super. Bring on the Big Dance.”
