Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $1.5m Kia Tancred Stakes (2400m) at Newcastle.
Josh Parr (Duais): “What a fantastic mare. You hear jockeys speak of having confidence in a horse and I’m starting to really respect that with this mare because she seems to just reassure me for every step of the way.
“Her turn of foot at the backend of a mile-and-a-half is just incredible and she handled them quite easily.
“I was very aware that going into today to pay respect to a couple of those hard-headed geldings and the stallion obviously; not to give them too much of a start.
“We swung down there by the 1000m and the half-mile and moves started to happen - the race really lit up. She just assured me that we are ok - I could sit there and be patient, and when I let her go, she put pay to them really quickly, similar to what she did at Flemington.”

Sam Clipperton (Stockman): “A mighty effort by him. He is just in great form running second in a WFA G1 behind a potential star.”
Hugh Bowman (The Chosen One): “My horse ran really well. Delighted with his effort.”
Nash Rawiller (Think It Over): “Horse was good. I ended up in an awkward spot. He didn’t handle the ground.”
James McDonald (Spanish Mission): “He travelled well into it. Then I copped a little check on the corner and it put him out of play. He was only going so so in the ground. It was just a matter of trying to keep hold of him but he only struggled.”
William Pike (Angel Of Truth): “He was OK.”
Brenton Avdulla (Sheraz): “He ran well. Probably over-travelled off that tempo a little bit but once he gets to the Sydney Cup in his Grand Final and drops in weight he’ll be ready to go.”
Tommy Berry (Mightybeel): “A good effort after a tough run.”
Rachel King (She's Ideel): “I think she is looking for a bit further now.”
