Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $1,500,000 TAB Epsom (1600m) at Randwick.
Regan Bayliss (Private Eye): “I wouldn’t be where I am today without Joe Pride. He is one who really backed me in Sydney from an early age. He was a trainer who put me on good chances in town and I needed to capitalise on a couple of those opportunities. I just love this horse Private Eye. He’s been set for the race. Joe knows how to set them for a big one to peak on the day. He is going to be mighty hard to beat in the Golden Eagle.”
“There was good speed and we were just able to get on the back of the right horses and bring him down the outside. We know he’s got that great turn of foot and he showed us today.”

Tommy Berry (Mo'unga): “Geez it was an effort, three wide no cover the whole way with the weight. He’s only been beaten a couple of lengths. Couldn’t have been any prouder of him.”
Hugh Bowman (Cascadian): “Ran a superb race. The team got him to peak on the day. He hasn’t disappointed.”
James McDonald (Dalasan): “What a super horse he is. Pleasure to ride. Disappointing about the result.”
Sam Clipperton (Star Of The Seas): “He went too bad to be true. Might be something amiss with him.”
Jean Van Overmeire (Lion's Roar): “I thought it was a really good run. Travelled into the straight he gave me an enormous feel. Just a few slightly sharper than him late.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Hungry Heart): “We got a nice trip around. Was actually pretty happy the way we travelled. I pressed the button and thought we are going to be right in this but she levelled out the last bit. Might be looking for further than a mile now.”
Robbie Dolan (Icebath): “She nearly fell over out of the gates and ended up at the rear of the field. I probably should have tried to get to the outside a bit more but she started travelling in amongst horses. Unlucky not to be closer.”
Brock Ryan (Rock): “He didn’t have the best of luck in the middle stages of the race. He attacked the line really well.”
Rachel King (Riodini): “Just raced like a tired horse. Think he needs a break.”
Alysha Collett (Aramayo): “He’s gone down by the narrowest of margins. It was a really good run. This time next year maybe we’ll get one.”
Glen Boss (Reloaded): “He ran well. He just isn’t up to that grade.”
Kathy O'Hara (Atishu): “She is a mare on the way up still. She has improvement there. Stepping up to that stage today she will only get better.”
James Innes (Discharged): “Got into a lovely spot. Travelling really well for me. That track is a little bit shifty now and maybe off the quick back up it might have taken that edge off him. I wasn’t disappointed.”
Jeff Penza (Ashman): “Did it a bit tough up front. Was a hard a race for him.”
Andrew Adkins (Harmony Rose): “Today wasn’t her day. There was a lot of speed drawn underneath us. They went twice as quick as I thought they would. Had no luck from the wide barrier. Was entitled to run how she did.”
Tim Clark (Sky Lab): “He ran okay. Probably looking for a bit further now. I rode him to hold a spot but it might have backfired.”
