Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 EGroup Security Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Jay Ford (Bandi’s Boy): “He’s always had really good ability. This prep has probably been the real making of him. He’s always done the little things wrong, wanting to run off the track and just getting the one-percenters wrong. But this prep he has really started to put it all together and he has just flown through the grades. He’s qualified for the Country Champs and it’s not a bad lead-up is it, winning a stakes race leading into that.
“He’s a very talented horse. Danny has managed him very well. He got injured a long time ago, he had a long time off and now they’re reaping the rewards.
“He’s the right horse for the Country Championships. I always thought that from a fair few months ago. He’s flying through the grades so all things being equal, if he turns up in this sort of form next week he should be hard to beat.
“He appreciated the nice solid tempo. I just rode him comfortably early. What took me was today, even though coming back in distance and up in grade he travelled well where he was. Once I got him into the clear, he let down really nicely from the 300m to the 100m. He might have just started to fade out that last little touch, but that should tighten him up for next week. And he’s only got to bring that next week and that puts him in the finish.”

Josh Parr (Malkovich): “Terrific effort by him again. He’s a warrior isn’t he.”
Jason Collett (Roots): “Great run. Came from a long way back and attacked the line really good.”
James McDonald (Shinzo): “He found the line nicely.”
Tommy Berry (Airman): “Tough run from the wide alley. He’s done really well.”
Nash Rawiller (Hawaii Five Oh): “Wait to see what the vet says. He made a bit of a noise pulling up.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Coal Crusher): “Went well. Just needs a better set up.”
Tom Marquand (Zou Tiger): “Jumped and travelled. He’s in it when back up in trip a tiny bit.”
Rachel King (Rocketing By): “Really nice first up run. He is in for a good preparation.”
Regan Bayliss (Omni Man): “He’s going for a spell.”
Jamie Kah (Brigantine): “Ran well. Will go close next start.”
Dylan Gibbons (Libertad): “Just got absolutely drilled so forget.”
Tim Clark (Butch Cassidy): “He battled on well.”
Andrew Adkins (Key Largo): “Just a bit outclassed there. Probably a horse looking for a bit further now that he’s getting older.”
Tyler Schiller (Lavish Empire): “I thought he was fantastic. Probably needed a little bit further or maybe a touch steadier speed.”
