Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 Canadian Club Shanon Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Tyler Schiller (Amor Victorious): “Straight out of the gates, I reckon (the saddle slipped). He jumped really sharp, did everything right and pretty much I just rode to Bjorn’s instructions. I just quickened up from the 600 and try to get them chasing. He did a great job to tough it out and I thought he was very brave.
“I knew it (the saddle) was back but I was still balanced, I could just feel that the saddle was back further.
“I could still put my irons where I could. So I was comfortable but I was just happy that the horse underneath me kept travelling.”
“I haven’t ridden for (Bjorn) for a while so it’s good to get a winner for Bjorn as well. The team is going great and they’re doing a great job.”

Kyle Wilson-Taylor (Punch Lane): “He is a good horse. We saw a glimpse of that. That will bring him right on. Really looking forward to sticking with him and seeing where he ends up this Spring.”
Adam Hyeronimus (New Endeavour): “Made good improvement from his first up run. Great run today. Hill Stakes will suit him down to the ground.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Celestial Legend): “We wanted to begin better than that. Disappointing to see him sluggish into stride and back last. He ground his way home. I was expecting a better finish. I know we had a penalty. I know he has won at Rosehill as well but he could be a horse who enjoys a bigger track like Randwick as well.’
Craig Williams (Freedom Rally): “Today he gave me a great ride from an inside barrier draw with the blinkers off. Really solid in defeat today.”
James McDonald (Osipenko): “He is going really well the horse. Just needs a barrier to put him into the race.”
Mark Zahra (Unspoken): “No good today.”
Josh Parr (Bandersnatch): “We didn’t see the best of him today.”
Blake Shinn (New Energy): “I couldn’t get cover from the awkward draw in a leader dominated race. He ran well, going well.”
Tim Clark (Bases Loaded): “He got across outside the leader. I did expect a little bit more from him but in saying that, he wasn’t beaten far and has improvement to come.”
Dylan Gibbons (Charterhouse): “They might have to try something new with him. He was happy to follow them around.”
