Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 Ned Whisky Shannon Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Nash Rawiller (Cepheus): “He gave me a bit of a hard time, from the time I got on him I don’t know why he was really above himself. On his day he does special things like that, the trainer (Matthew Dunn) can do that too. He wanted to win this race and he’s come and just blown them away. Great effort by the team there at Murwillumbah and he’s a horse that’s got good ability.
“You try and get on the best horses you can leading into these carnivals and I’ve just been fortunate. There’s a couple of big months ahead of us and I’m going really well.
“I’ve had plenty of bad luck too. I know James (McDonald) is out for a month at the moment I feel sorry for him and Josh Parr. Don’t worry, I’ve had plenty of things happen over the last few years. You push on and keep working hard and hope to put yourself in a position I am at the moment.”

Dylan Gibbons (Williamsburg): “He has gone enormous but found one better sadly.”
Tyler Schiller (Waterford): “Enormous run. They’ve run 34 to the 600 on the front end so be good to see what his last 600m was. Terrific run hopefully for the Epsom next week. In a genuinely run race he should show a bit more quality.”
Tom Sherry (Kirwan's Lane): “He was good. Hit a bit of a flat spot around the bend but he was really good through the line. I think he will back up in the Epsom next week.”
Joao Moreira (New Mandate): “He is still yet to bring his A-Game. I would say it was a disappointing run.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Magical Lagoon): “Nice first run. She can go out further in trip and be better suited as well.
Rachel King (Cross Talk): “First half was very happy. Just a bit plain in his effort late.”
Damian Lane (Lion's Roar): “Really good return. He was held up in the straight and finished off really well.”
Reece Jones (Commando Hunt): “Bounced out well and let him settle back. Probably just wasn’t sharp enough either with that run under his belt. Probably felt the ground a little too.
Zac Lloyd (Flying Crazy): “Ran really well. Very happy with that. He got into a lovely rhythm. Found the line really well.”
Kathy O'Hara (Byron Belle): “Probably looking for something a little bit softer and maybe a bit easier.”
