Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 Polytrack Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.
Ben Melham (Best Of Bordeaux): ““He had to do a little bit of work early and sort of on and off the bridle throughout, but the way the track is racing obviously suits a horse of his pattern.
“He helped me because he really travelled well into the straight before I had to put him under pressure. So it’s a good honest win and good to see him in the winner’s stall again.
“It was good to get on a nice galloper here today and he didn’t let me down. He had to do a little bit of work from the draw and got across and controlled it once we got across. He travelled well into the straight and he let down really well.”

Chad Schofield (Sweet Ride): “He ran well. He got the gap at just the right time. He quickened and I thought he was going to win and it was quite short lived. He peaked on that run.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Willinga Beast): “Good honest run by her. She got through the ground well.”
Tommy Berry (Nettuno): “Didn’t jump as sharp as a few inside me. So we were actually going to ride him forward today. It’s a bit softer out in the middle of the track. Horses toward the inside are going to get a bit of an advantage today.”
Jason Collett (Sejardan): “Slow to begin and back in the field on this track made it very difficult.”
Brenton Avdulla (Zoukerino): “He was disappointing on the ground. I know he has a heavy 10 but this is completely different to on the Kenso.”
Nash Rawiller (Selous): “He was just all at sea on the wet ground.”
