Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $5 million Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Ryan Moore (Shinzo): “Growing up the Golden Slipper was always one of the big races that everyone knew around the world. Maybe times have changed, but it was always the premier race in New South Wales.
“Tom (Magnier from Coolmore) called me last week at this time and asked if I’d like to come down. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here. He won well last week, he’s a very talented colt, he’s got a super attitude. Lovely big strong long striding horse.
“I’m sure he’s going to be better when he goes up in trip. We were lucky we got a nice draw, was able to follow Cylinder through and it all just went beautifully for us. It all worked out.
“I’m sure he’s not just an out and out six furlong (1200m) sprinter. I’m sure he’s going to be more comfortable when he gets over more ground. It feels like he’s improving and he’ll continue to improve and all being he’ll have a good future.”

James McDonald (Cylinder): “He ran beautifully. He tried hard. Everything worked out beautifully for him. Just the really strong horse overcame him late.”
Mark Zahra (King's Gambit): “He ran a great race. A little bit wide for the majority. Relaxed really well. Winner got the break on us but he finished off well.”
Michael Dee (Little Brose): “He just struggled to maintain the bridle the whole way. He actually raced quite green today.”
Nash Rawiller (Barber): “Didn’t have much go his way to be honest.”
Jye McNeil (Arkansaw Kid): “We blew the start so we made a decision to go forward and he struggled going this way.”
Hugh Bowman (Don Corleone): “I thought he acquitted himself really well.”
Sam Clipperton (Empire Of Japan): “He’s run out of his skin and picked up a bit of prizemoney. He’s done a good job.”
Tim Clark (Platinum Jubilee): “She came across and got into a nice spot. Probably raced a fraction keen for 100m or so. She settled down nicely. Might be the end of the prep.”
Damian Lane (Blanc De Blanc): “She ran well. Tried as hard as she could. Gave her all.”
Brenton Avdulla (Exploring): “She was disappointing. She started a bit awkward and showed her speed. She never came up underneath me. Forget she went around.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Lazzago): “Lucky to stay on her feet with that interference. Copped nearly the worst of it.”
Regan Bayliss (Steel City): “The barrier told in the end. She had to do too much work from the wide run.”
Ryan Maloney (Militarize): “Unfortunately whatever intention we had got taken away from us when we got the back wash.”
