Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $250,000 James Squire Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick.
Regan Bayliss (Just Fine): “Gai (Waterhouse) and Adrian (Bott) didn’t have to put me on again today, but they stuck loyal and that’s half the battle. He’s a serious horse and he’ll keep getting better.
“He was a bit above himself in the mounting yard, never really took a deep breath and then from the 800m King Frankel came outside of us going a million miles an hour.
“It set him alight, but to his credit he still gave a kick. That’s the sign of a good horse.”

Zac Lloyd (Benaud): “Super run. He’s really going well this horse. Has his confidence back and will be a force to be reckoned with in the Metrop.”
Jason Collett (Montefilia): “Good run. She is peaking nicely.”
Rachel King (Knights Order): “Brave effort. It just really needs a wet track.”
Josh Parr (Major Beel): “Nice effort. I’d say the ground might be a touch firm for him now.”
Nash Rawiller (Manzoice): “I feel like he’s really looking for the trip. It was a hot race there today.”
Chad Schofield (Navajo Peak): “It is a bad start to be drawn wide. We were very deep but we got in. Around the home turn we kept getting flushed off the track. He was brave.”
Tom Sherry (Camorra): “Poor performance.”
Dylan Gibbons (Protagonist): “Great run from well back.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Bold Mac): “Got a bit further back than what we wanted. Had his chance to run on but just levelled out the last furlong.”
Tyler Schiller (King Frankel): “Just had to do too much work early. I’d thought I’d make it into a staying test rather than a sprint.”
Kathy O'Hara (Sky Lab): “Very good run. I think he will be topped off nicely from that effort next time.”
Brett Prebble (Al Aabir): “Very honest effort. He’s really improving this horse.”
