Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $500,000 James Squire Hot Danish Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Tommy Berry (Roots): “She was really good first-up. I don’t ask Chris (Waller) to stick with too many but I asked if I could stick with her the whole way through.
He said ‘how about we just worry about next start’ and he left me on her there (The Invitation) and she was a little disappointing, a bit lacklustre in the run. We toyed with putting the blinkers on her and Chris agreed it would be a great idea. I worked her last Saturday in them and I knew we were ‘game-on’.
“I’m just enjoying what I’m doing, I’m loving it. I’m loving everything about racing at the moment. It’s no fluke - I’m fitter than I’ve ever been and you can just tell that. I’m just happy, I can’t put it into any other words and I think that is coming out in my riding.”

Zac Lloyd (Finepoint): “Fantastic first up effort. A tough run being three wide but the horse was in a good rhythm. She finished off accordingly. Happy with her.”
Nash Rawiller (Call Di): “She went really well. Found the winner a bit good on the day. She will more than likely have a good break now.”
Jason Collett (Royal Merchant): “A bit disappointing. Lobbed into a good spot but didn’t have the turn of foot to finish it.”
Jay Ford (Dalchini): “She was honest enough but the small field, no tempo probably doesn’t suit her style.”
Chad Schofield (Mirra View): “Racing against that level she found it a bit tough today. Might want a little break.”
Regan Bayliss (Russian Conquest): “Probably wasn’t suited to the slow tempo.”
