Dixie does it again! Ron Quinton's bonny mare Dixie Blossoms defended her Guy Walter Stakes crown with an impressive win.
Find out what the beaten jockeys made of their runs in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.
Christian Reith (Dixie Blossoms): “I always had the horse underneath me. I was never concerned. I was alway going to put myself in a position where I could get out when I wanted to. I have only ridden her over 1200m, and they were a bit too zippy for her, but she is in great order, Ron has her at her absolute peak, and it was an honour to be able to ride her.”

Tye Angland (Raiment): “Performed really well. Terribly run race. I was caught wide, I couldn’t go back, they were going too slow. I slid forward, comfortable. Performed really well.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Francaletta): “Ran well. Just had to work a little bit from the gate and will improve with the run so look for her to show up next time.”
Rachel King (Nettoyer): “Huge run. She’ll be much better over a bit further.”
Jason Collett (Aide Memoire): “Still waiting to get out.”
Hugh Bowman (Zanbagh): “It was an interesting race for her. Panned out really well in the early stages and then in the middle stages it didn’t. So finished accordingly.”
Brenton Avdulla (Eckstein): “Went okay. Would’ve liked her to finish a bit better the last 100m.”
Glyn Schofield (Danish Twist): “We overraced a bit early and it was a bit of a muddle for us.”
Jess Taylor (Slightly Sweet): “She ran good, hit the line good, just looking for further this time.”
