Mizzy made it three wins on the bounce when she won the $400,000 G2 TAB Golden Pendant (1400m). This is what the jockeys had to say after the race.
Tommy Berry (Mizzy): “She is just so consistent, the market keeps forgetting about her, but I’m sure they won’t next time.”
“She’s come back much better this preparation, her manners are a lot better. She’s been able to control the race from the front and that’s told in the end.”
Mizzy winning again
Kerrin McEvoy (Invincibella): “She ran well. A race that was obviously dictated by the front group. I travelled keenly in behind and by the end of the race they were sprinting in front of me but she was doing her best work the last 100m. Good run.”
Nash Rawiller (Champagne Cuddles): “She’s a very honest horse. Just before we straightened Dyslexia put a bit of pressure on inside me to get out and I didn’t want to get into a bumping duel with her. She’s only a little thing. But she was very honest to the line, tried her guts out.”
Josh Parr (Pretty In Pink): “Nice enough effort. She settled back in a slowly run race and it became very difficult from the 600m on when they sprinted.”
James McDonald (Enticing Star): “She jumped a bit awkwardly and got back probably just one spot further back than I anticipated but in saying that she just failed to touch the bridle at any point in time and she finished like that. I think blinkers would be a huge asset to her.”
Tim Clark (Fundamentalist): “She’s racing well below her best.”
Jay Ford (Dyslexic): “She’s going great guns. Obviously the leader controlled the race. She tried very hard through the line but just couldn’t reel in the winner.”
