Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $500,000 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) at Royal Randwick.
Regan Bayliss (Raf Attack): “I’ve loved the horse since he won here back on the Kenso track and he’s continuing to improve. Adrian (Bott), I and Gai (Waterhouse) have said along the whole way that once he gets to 1800m, this race and the Spring Champion, he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with and he proved that today.”
“He’s a free rolling horse and he’s very tough. A bit tricky to ride, you can’t go too slow, but you also can’t just run him into the ground.”
“I was, but he was a little bit keen still today. So I reckon that run will just knock the edge off him and it’s going to have to heading into the Spring Champion.”

Nash Rawiller (Tom Kitten): “I said at the start of the prep he could be the best horse I’ve ridden and he hasn’t let me down today. Just unlucky.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Cap Ferrat): “Nice positive run by him there. He showed improvement out in trip. He can try a little bit further for sure.”
James McDonald (Tannhauser): “He went OK. Just didn’t let down on the firm ground.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Ganbare): “It’s an awful start the 1800m, he drew the outside and it made it tough for him.”
Jamie Kah (Kintyre): “Really good run. He just landed a bit closer than I wanted to be.”
Tommy Berry (Ravello): “Just got that trouble at the top of the straight.”
Hugh Bowman (Snowman): “Landed in a beautiful position but I had to work to get him there. Took him a while to get back into his rhythm and it took away from his finish.”
Jay Ford (Noisy Boy): “Come to the end of it.”
Jean Van Overmeire (Glad You Think So): “I thought he was terrific. Settled a little bit further back than anticipated but hit the line strongly.”
Tom Sherry (Highborn Harry): “Not quite good enough for that company.”
Craig Williams (Waverley): “Barrier was a real big disadvantage to him today. Had to go back to last and follow the favourite. They dropped him but he stayed on reasonably today. If he pulls up really well maybe the Geelong Classic.”
Tyler Schiller (Long Genes): “Finished well above market expectations. Did a good job. Getting better the further he goes.”
