In Her Time claimed a deserved Group One victory in the Galaxy dashing down the outside for Ben Smith and Zac Purton.
Here are what the jockeys had to say after the race.
Zac Purton (In Her Time): “She’s deserved to win a Group 1 and now she’s finally got it, so I’m very happy for Ben and connections, obviously Ben’s grandmother as well.”
“She began really well so I was able to come across and just slot in nicely behind the speed, they kept the hammer down from the half-mile to the 400m, I just had to come out and roll into it as I felt comfortable to do so.”
“She got there pretty easy and just wandered a bit late, it was a good effort.”
In Her Time winning the Galaxy
Hugh Bowman (Le Romain): “I thought that was a nice run first up. It was clearly too short the 1100m but he was doing his best work late.”
Kevin Forrester (Jungle Edge): “Disappointing.”
Sam Clipperton (English): “It was a massive run. She missed the start a half length and didn’t handle the going around the 600m. Once she got to the outside she unleashed. It was good to see the old English back in form.”
Tommy Berry (Takedown): “He didn’t love the going and they are probably a bit too sharp for him over this trip now.”
Jason Collett (Ball Of Muscle): “He was pressured midrace and in that ground it told late. It was a good run.”
Tim Clark (Snitty Kitty): “She ran really well. They ran pretty fast and rode the back of the hot speed. She was left a bit of a sitting shot but she held her head high.”
Andrew Adkins (Derryn): “He began well and travelled very well but was a bit disappointing in the straight.”
Kathy O'Hara (Lady Esprit): “She ran okay. I think the track was a bit too loose for her liking.”
Brenton Avdulla (Viridine): “He ran terrific. He handled himself pretty well and was only beaten a length. I think he has a good race in him.”
Rachel King (The Mission): “It was a huge run and he was doing his best work late.”
