Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $750,000 Darley Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.
Regan Bayliss (Never Been Kissed): “We put her in the box seat. Switched off beautifully for me. At the top of the straight we came to the outside of Four Moves Ahead’s heels, I gave her a slap down the shoulder and she really came up underneath me and really toughed it out towards the end.”
It's a blowout in the Flight Stakes with Never Been Kissed
Nash Rawiller (Four Moves Ahead): “She was very honest. The barrier draw went against us. We got into a lovely spot there. When they quickened before the corner it made it very hard for her.”
Hugh Bowman (Mallory): “Didn’t run the mile.”
Tim Clark (Swift Witness): “She ran extremely well. Just struggled late on at the end of the mile.”
James McDonald (She's All Class): “She has been disappointing.”
Sam Clipperton (Startantes): “Courageous effort. Had a nice run in the race. There was a bit of pressure early but they sort of steadied up at the half mile. Had a nice blending run into it. She tried really hard. Just no match for the first two but will be a lovely filly in the Autumn. Very proud of her effort nonetheless.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Latino Blend): “We jumped well but were left without cover.”
Glen Boss (Hinged): “She was outstanding.”
Josh Parr (Von Trapp): “Didn’t live up to expectations.”
Alysha Collett (Chill): “Super run.”
Robbie Dolan (Lovemetender): “She actually ran very well. We had to go back to last from the wide gate. Cut the corner and she let down well up the running. Just a prep away for races like that.”
Glyn Schofield (Stray): “Enjoyed a lovely run. When they sprinted up they left me behind. She stayed on fairly.”
Brock Ryan (Galactic Angel): “A little bit outclassed and didn’t like the track.”
Jason Collett (Left Reeling): “Good run. Just very one paced.”
