Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $160,000 Petaluma Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.
Kerrin McEvoy (Paulele): “I led on him here one day back early in his career, at his second start, but I didn't ask him to do that, he just got there on his own accord.
“I wasn’t too worried, I’d chatted to the team and as long as I was able to have him comfortable and in a rhythm.
“He was a bit fresh pre-race and he bowled off quite strongly to the gates but I was able to get him back at the 600m and I was actually pretty happy when I got to the gates. I thought he was feeling well and handling himself well.
“He was able to put the race away and kick strongly for home and that’s exactly what he did. He’s a quality colt.
“He did it nicely for me early and that enabled him to kick strongly. I could hear Timmy coming on the inside. I was slightly worried past the furlong but my fella maintained a good gallop all the way through the line. He’s in for a lovely prep.”

Tim Clark (Converge): “Lovely return. He’s in for a great prep.”
James McDonald (Ranch Hand): “Super return. He’s in for a good prep.”
Chad Schofield (Hilal): “Had to ease him back from the bad draw. We were a long way back mid-race. Made up a lot of ground. In for a good prep.”
Jamie Kah (Mana Nui): “He was OK looking for further.”
Tom Sherry (Subterranean): “Good run. Thought he travelled a bit too strong but once he gets over a trip and ride him midfield he will be hard to beat.”
Hugh Bowman (Captivant): “Good first up run.”
Tommy Berry (Giannis): “Just reared up at the start then his chances were finished.”
Regan Bayliss (Royalzel): “He just needed the run.”
Jason Collett (Kiss Sum): “Really happy with the run. Big step up today in grade. He ran on well.”
Josh Parr (Maurice's Medad): “Fantastic effort. Settling much better this prep. Will see him at his best at a mile.”
Brock Ryan (War Eternal): “Good run looking for 1400m next start.”
