The Pinnacle relished the wet conditions to take out the G2 Mounties 50th Birthday Epona Stakes, by a comfortable margin.
Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts' runs.
Christian Reith (The Pinnacle): “I was able to ride her a couple of starts back and she gave me a lovely feel.”
“The idea was to ride her a little bit quieter today, but we just didn’t get that tempo so we elected to stroll forward and put her in the one-one. Had a beautiful run and she gave me an explosive kick at the furlong and was good enough to draw away for the win.”

Hugh Bowman (Consommateur): “She was disappointing today.”
Jason Collett (Karavali): “She was in trouble 1000m and really disappointing.”
Tommy Berry (Oklahoma Girl): “She feels like she is holding back a bit.”
Tim Clark (Perfect Rhyme): “She overraced a little bit.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Nettoyer): “She stayed on okay. We didn’t begin great. The riderless horse had me back last. They were going slow so I tried to get into the race. She moved into it stylishly at the 300m however her run just levelled out the last 100 yards of the race. It was a nice effort in better grade today.”
Brenton Avdulla (Pioneering): “Didn’t handle it.”
Dwayne Dunn (Ceylon): “She got held up a little bit but was good late.”
Craig Williams (Domed): “She was in a beautiful position following the eventual winner. From the 1000m to the half mile and onwards I was under pressure to even hold the back of them. Once she balanced up and got on a bit firmer footing, I loved how she finished the race off.”
Jay Ford (La Courbette): “She was no good today.”
J Adams (Ardanza): “She’s just not up to them.”
