Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $500,000 Moet and Chandon Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick.
James McDonald (Captivant): “Barriers win races. He drew the perfect marble to switch off back on the fence and did no work. He’s got a very good turn of foot. The mile is as far as he wants though to be fair.
“He was primed to come here today with a Grand Final in mind albeit he had a little spell in the paddock. Maybe Peter has got to start training all his horses like that.”

Tommy Berry (Hilal): “He was brilliant. The winner just had a charmed run through.”
Tim Clark (Converge): “He ran a blinder.”
Luke Currie (Daily Bugle): “Just struggled a bit in the straight.”
James Orman (I've Bean There): “Ran super. Good run to run fourth. Could have gotten our momentum going a bit earlier and we might have given it a bit more of a shake.”
Rachel King (Maurice's Medad): “Really super run especially at the end of a long preparation.”
Andrew Adkins (Arnaqueur): “Ran super. Is going to make a lovely 3yo, especially over a trip.”
Craig Williams (Akahata): “Performance wasn’t quite as good as the other day. It was a different and stronger race shape seven days later. He drew awkward and was a fair way back, galloped on nicely. Looking forward to see how he matures as a 3yo.”
Jason Collett (Patton): “Got flushed very wide which didn’t help him.”
Hugh Bowman (Port Louis): “Superb run.”
Josh Parr (Wolfburn): “Lugged off the track the entire. At the end of his prep I’d say.”
John Allen (Lease): “He had a wide run and it probably just told a bit late.”
Jamie Kah (Queen Of Wizardry): “A bit disappointing. Felt flat today.”
Brenton Avdulla (Gin Martini): “Just coming to the end of the prep. She copped a bit of a hit halfway up the straight. Knocked the wind out of her. A lovely filly.”
