Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Listed $200,000 Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.
Sam Clipperton (Mazu): “He’s a very talented horse, he’s a very highly strung and hot tempered horse as well. His racing manners have been the thing holding him back.”
“Today there was nice speed on, I was able to just drop in behind them. I played with him as much as I could and it probably looked like I was getting there too soon but I was really happy to just let the horse build, had a nice easy furlong.
“He’s a very fit horse and when I asked him for his superior effort he dropped them. He put paid to them pretty easy so it just goes to show his talent. He’s crying out to be gelded, whether that happens now I’m not sure. Hopefully that gives him some confidence going forward.”

Jason Collett (Battleton): “Good run. Copped some interference there at the top of the straight. He didn’t like it and it cost him. The way he attacked the line was very pleasing.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Able Willie): “It was a really good effort. Not everything went his way and he was left exposed without cover. Just a tiny bit aggressive but he’s still learning his trade. Good effort to run third.”
Tommy Berry (O’President): “Just hasn’t got his mind on the job.”
Rachel King (War Eternal): “They were just a bit sharp for him today but will improve.”
Josh Parr (Artero): “He got tired. There is nice improvement to come.”
Jay Ford (Anagain): “Wasn’t too bad. Obviously raced against superior opposition but she will be better once she sees a mile.
Robbie Dolan (Centro Storico): “They just probably sprinted a little bit too well for her but she is going well.”
