Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 3 $200,000 Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick.
James McDonald (Empire Of Japan): “Smart horse. A colt who takes everything in his stride. I actually jumped him out at the official jump outs and he was a little hot that day, and the stable's done a good job to put a lid on him and put him to the trials and he ran extremely well at the trials. I was happy he just wasn't a jump and run two-year-old which I pleased about and he gave me really good confidence coming in.”
He's got plenty (of upside). He handles wet ground which (laughs), that's a good thing so, he's just a ready made race horse. Beautifully educated.”

Tommy Berry (Mach Ten): “He is an absolute natural 2yo. He has to learn to control that speed a little bit. Because he’s so fast he’d probably be better on drier ground. Nice to know if we get heavy tracks that he will get through it.”
Brenton Avdulla (Physical Graffiti): “I thought he ran well. If anything he found it too deep. It was much worse than when he trialled the other day. Nice horse going forward.”
Jason Collett (Flying Trapeze): “Good effort.”
Glyn Schofield (Insane Volt): “Travelled well in behind the speed. Just didn’t have enough to get past them late.”
Rachel King (Legolas): “Just hasn’t got his mind on the job yet.”
Sam Clipperton (Make A Call): “He’s run terrific. He did everything right with a beautiful attitude. Has got a bit of growing to do. The further they went the better he got.”
Chad Schofield (Snatchreilly): “I let him find his feet early after not jumping the best. Just doesn’t know how to finish it off yet.”
Regan Bayliss (Tarabeau): “It’s a testing track out there. Owners are going to have a lot of fun with him. Just today wasn’t the day.”
