ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 9 # 14 – TOWNSEND
He was impressive winning last start at Newcastle and ran his rivals ragged. The gelding led at a fast pace, showed sustained speed and clocked slick time relative to the day. Further, that was a career peak, and he brings the clear best last start figure into this assignment. Additionally, he drops in weight, and the rain-affected ground should pose no issue with placings behind subsequent Group 1 winners Tom Kitten/Militarize.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – NEXT BEST: Race 2 # 8 – CAMBAR
He's a nice type and always indicated he would return improved in his second preparation. The colt's win before spelling last campaign at Wagga was full of merit after making up significant ground, and he savaged the line to clock the meeting's fastest final 200m. He's trialled well, maps to have all favours, and receives a senior rider for the first time.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 10 # 5 – CONFESS OUR DREAMS
She's gone to a new level this prep and produced a career peak figure last start at this track/distance. The mare had every chance but showed late strength after absorbing the pressure, and Punter's Intelligence recorded her running one of the fastest final 600m splits in 33.06. She profiles well, is rock-hard fit and is proven in all conditions.
KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 4 # 4 – ALTAIR I AM
He is ready to peak third-up and is suited back to the provincial circuit. The gelding had excuses first-up after being heavily backed and then tried hard last start at Canterbury. He wasn't suited to the sit/sprint race shape, but to his credit, he kept picking up in the straight and hit the line well, recording the race's quickest final 200m in a high-rating last section. The winkers go back on; he brings multiple winning ratings and is well-placed under the race conditions.
