ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 6 # 6 – Statement

Went out on a career peak performance prior to spelling last prep when winning the Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1500m) in Ireland. The Joseph O'Brien trained runner did it in style and won by a dominant margin of 5.5 lengths. Further, she accelerated hard on the rain-affected ground and went through the line full of energy. She has a positive race setup with a favourable map and John Allen rides. In addition, she has key attributes, and her figures line up well against her opposition. Hard to beat with even luck.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – NEXT BEST: Race 9 # 9 – Great House

Represents value and has performed above market expectations in his past two campaigns when resuming. First-up last prep, his run had merit after getting too far back in a slow tempo and ran on well, clocking one of the fastest final 600m splits of the meeting whilst carrying 60.5kg. The Chris Waller trained galloper has a solid fresh record, races well at his home track, and the rain-affected ground is ideal. Although he returns over an unsuitable distance, he has had one quiet trial that will keep him sharp to sprint hard and has figures that can put him in the finish. In addition, he has started respectable prices in superior races and can run well with only 55kg.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: RACE 4 # 6 – Zeyrek

Is in career-best form, and he raced well at this track/distance last start in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m). He was run to suit, but the clock backed up his late visual strength. Further, he clocked one of the fastest final 600m splits of the meeting in 33.62 and maintained a strong finishing speed to the line. The Team Hawkes galloper can roll forward with the booking of Tim Clark and use his fitness edge over some of his key rivals. Repeating his last start effort/figure or any improvement will make him hard to catch.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – HORSE TO WATCH: Race 7 # 1 – Prowess

Is an exciting NZ filly having her first Australian start and brings a fantastic record/SP profile. The three-year-old won the Group 1 WFA Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes (2050m) at Pukekohe last start and produced a career peak figure. Although racing wayward in the final straight, she was brave in a duel and asserted her dominance late. She gets a positive race setup in this event and maps to have all favours. Expect her to be hard to beat in this event, and she holds a nomination for the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m).

WYONG - PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 7 # 3 – Acquitted

Had no luck first-up at Newcastle in a similar race and started a well-fancied $3.50 favourite. The gelding raced wide throughout and was slightly outpaced when the sprint went on, but once balancing up, he hit the line well, recording one of the fastest final 200m splits of the meeting. He undoubtedly will be fitter for that, and his historical ratings profile suggests he is set to improve. Further, in his last two campaigns, his prep peak figure has come second-up, and he revels in testing conditions. Will need some luck from the draw but expect a bold showing.
