ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 5 # 12 – SHADOWS OF LOVE

She is ready to peak third-up with a strong platform and has a positive race setup. The mare had no luck first-up, and the late market trade suggested she would also improve from the run. Second-up, she was honest in defeat at Kensington 17 days ago in a solid time race. Further, she always faced the breeze in a genuine tempo, tried hard to the line, and the sectional profile suggests she is set to improve. Tommy Berry rides from an inside draw, the slightly rain-affected ground is ideal, and she has a ratings edge over her key rivals.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST VALUE: Race 4 # 3 – IMATRUESTAR

Is a knockout chance; who is going better than the form guide suggests, and this looks like a target race. Forget both of his starts this campaign where he has had no luck and been a victim of circumstances. The gelding comes into this event third-up with a senior rider on and reaches his optimal distance, where he produces his peak figures. In addition, the anticipated genuine tempo will suit, and it's worth noting that he comes through the Country Championship series from last preparation.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 7 # 1 – SHANGRI LA EXPRESS

He was visually impressive on debut at Randwick 21 days ago, and the clock backed up his performance. The two-year-old was ridden early to lead, relaxed throughout transit and accelerated away from his rivals in the straight. Further, he clocked the entire meeting's fastest final 200m in 11.75 and went through the line full of energy. He ran slick time, and that race rated extremely well relative to the day. The Waterhouse & Bott galloper is well-educated, and although he has a tricky draw, expect him to roll forward and be hard to catch.

WYONG – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 6 # 5 – MAJOR LOOK

His debut run at Kembla Grange 21 days ago was full of merit after having too much to do. The colt was restrained from a wide draw, got too far back throughout transit and had to make a long sustained run. He built through his gears well and wanted to find the line when clocking one of the meeting's fastest 200m splits. Further, that race rated exceptionally well relative to the day and the margins throughout confirmed the quality. The three-year-old would have benefited from the race experience, the rise in trip suits and expect him to improve sharply here.
