ROYAL RANDWICK– BEST BET: Race 7 # 16 – Kin
Started a solid $3.30 favourite first-up at Gosford and, although well-ridden, her run had merit. The filly was forced wide, becoming slightly unbalanced on the turn, but still sprinted the meeting's quickest 600m-400m split. Further, she maintained a solid finishing speed to the line to run second and beat the rest easily. Moreover, that race rated highly relative to the day after adjustments and there has since been a subsequent winner to confirm the form. The Godolphin galloper has comeback improved and brings a solid SP profile from last preparation, where she contested stronger races. She will need some luck from the draw, but the big track suits and expect her to use her key asset of acceleration with no weight on her back to sprint over the top of her rivals late.
ROYAL RANDWICK– NEXT BEST: Race 6 # 3 – Unspoken
Finally gets to an ideal trip, and his ratings/sectional profile suggests he's ready to peak fourth-up. The import raced well, running second last start at Scone in a strong time race. He raced wide with cover, wasn't suited to the moderate tempo, and was slightly outsprinted at the top of the straight. Further, once he balanced up, he built through his gears well and hit the line hard, running one of the fastest final 200m splits of the meeting. The Snowden galloper has to give weight to some improving types, but he maps well, and any improvement off his last start figure will put him in the finish.
ROYAL RANDWICK– SECTIONAL STAR: RACE 5 # 9 – Daralina Belle
She has a strong platform and is racing in career-best form. The mare hasn't been suited to sit/sprint race shapes this campaign, and last start, she got too far back in a moderate tempo. Moreover, she ran building closing splits relative to her rivals, and Punter's Intelligence recorded she ran the fastest final 200m split of the meeting in 11.15. The five-year-old finally gets out to a more suitable trip and the anticipated genuine tempo suits.
KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 1 # 9 – Worth Avenue
Was specked late in the trade on debut at this track but had no luck in a solid time race. The two-year-old was building through her gears strongly but was blocked for a run at a critical stage and lost her momentum. Additionally, she should've finished closer and been fighting out the finish. The Snowden galloper arguably wants more ground second-up, but the wide draw suits and expect her to be savaging the line.
