Free Family Entertainment Continues Sydney's Long Weekend Of Racing

A host of free family entertainment activities and free entry for all patrons to an eight-race card at Warwick Farm on Monday continues the Australian Turf Club’s popular series of public holiday and community racedays.

Following Saturday’s Bob Charley AO Stakes Day and ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at Royal Randwick, the traditional Queen’s Birthday long weekend of racing heads to Warwick Farm.

A selection of food trucks, along with free children’s attractions including pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and amusement rides will be spread across the racecourse’s trackside lawns.

With gates opening at 11.15am and the first race at 12.15pm, entry to Monday’s meeting is free, with the family entertainment continuing throughout the raceday until just before the last race at 4.20pm.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Commercial Melinda Madigan said the Club was continuing to invest in community and family racedays.

The Australia Day meeting at Warwick Farm in January which featured a pony race up the home straight for young riders along with an array of free family entertainment had continued the Club’s growing program.

“This Monday’s public holiday race meeting and added family entertainment follows a very popular and successful Australia Day meeting at Warwick Farm,’’ Ms Madigan said.

“These meetings along with our Canterbury night racing series and associated community events are a great opportunity for families and local communities to get up close to the thoroughbred whilst enjoying free entry and attractions.’’
