Australian Turf Club CEO, Matt Galanos said ANZAC Day held special significance for the Club and Sydney racing.
“Anzac Day is among the most important and special days all year and its history and legacy for more than a century is closely tied to racing," Mr Galanos said.
“Racing was an important part of daily lives during the war years and ATC racecourses also played a vital role in housing defence personnel and equipment during major conflicts such as World War I and World War II.
“We pause to reflect and be thankful for the courage, service and sacrifice of so many Australian and New Zealand servicemen and servicewomen."
