On Friday, 23rd February 2024 BODYGUARD was withdrawn from the Blue Diamond Stakes (Caulfield) on veterinary advice.
After returning to the stable of Peter and Paul Snowden in Sydney, the horse underwent a series of veterinary assessments under the direction of Racing NSW Stewards.
On Wednesday the stable's veterinarian provided Racing NSW with a veterinary clearance for BODYGUARD declaring that, after comprehensive veterinary investigations and diagnostic procedures, the horse is considered suitable to race.
As part of the assessment process, Dr Peter Curl, Racing NSW's Chief Veterinary Officer, has been monitoring BODYGUARD.
This morning Dr Curl conducted another assessment of the colt after it had completed trackwork and informed the Stewards that the horse is cleared to participate in the Todman Stakes on 9th March 2024 at Royal Randwick.
