ATC Awards Celebrate Owners & Horses At Season's Final Meeting

Australian Turf Club will announce a number of special awards at Royal Randwick this Saturday to recognise the contribution of owners at the final metropolitan meeting of the 2022/23 season.

The Industry Celebration Awards – in conjunction with the ATC’s Racing for Good Day – recognises owners, horses and participant achievements at ATC meetings.

ATC will separately recognise and celebrate the Sydney training, senior jockey and apprentice titles throughout the day.

Among the ATC awards in the Royal Randwick Directors Room ahead of the start of Saturday’s 10-race card are:

  • Most Winning Syndicator
  • Most Progressive ATC-trained Horse
  • Most Saturday Starts
  • Most Starts ATC Courses
  • Most Winning Owner ATC Courses
  • Highest Strike Rate Owner ATC Courses
  • Most Starts at Canterbury Park KIA Friday Night Racing
  • Most Improved Horse
  • Most Starts ATC Courses (trained outside the metropolitan area)
  • Most Wins
  • Special Achievement Award

Australian Turf Club's Head of Racing and Wagering, James Ross, thanked all owners, racing participants and ATC supporters for the 2022/23 season.

“The final metropolitan meeting of the season is a significant day to thank, recognise and celebrate owners and their horses for their support right across the year," Mr Ross said.

“We are also delighted to join with Godolphin in showcasing such a popular racehorse in Kementari who is now enjoying retirement and will be at Royal Randwick on Saturday as we join industry in capping a successful year.’

“The Australian Turf Club is encouraged by the number of horses continuing their contribution post racecourse careers in Sydney racing.

"So many former stars are finding new homes and taking part in equestrian activities and community programs, as being seen in the ATC’s #forloveofthehorse campaign."

Group 1 winner and Godolphin stalwart Kementari is a flagbearer for their Lifetime Care Program, which aims to promote the versatility of the thoroughbred breed in their post-race careers.

Kementari will lead the field out onto the Royal Randwick track for race seven and is available for a meet and greet from the raceday stalls between 3pm and 3:45pm.

Saturday also sees the Australian Turf Club and ATC Foundation host Racing For Good, joining one of the Club’s longest standing partners – the ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation.

ATC Foundation and ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation – a charity partner supporting Australian-based children’s charities – will jointly raise funds and awareness on the day at a special luncheon.

Since 2018, the ATC Foundation has provided over $1million in grant funding to not-for-profit organisations and local community partners in and around Sydney racecourses.

Royal Randwick’s 10-race card will start at 11:20am and conclude with the final race to jump at 4:50pm. TAB Fixed Odds for the entire card are available HERE.

Tickets for this Saturday and all Winter Season racedays are available for as low as $17 for Groups of 10 or more, with the Punters Pack available at $39. Punters Packs are loaded with value and include one General Admission entry ticket, two Furphy vouchers, a $10 food voucher and a racebook.

Punters Packs can be purchased online at theraces.com.au up until 4.30pm on the Friday prior and collected on raceday at the Wagering Concierge in the Betting Ring.
