Yulong Investments and Mr Zhang were one of the first slot holders in The TAB Everest to make a move, locking in the defending champion Redzel back in May. That foresight was of course vindicated last Saturday, when the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained six-year-old led from start to finish.
Now the dust has settled, Mr Zhang, who partnered with Triple Crown in The TAB Everest, has reiterated his desire to continue supporting the New South Wales and Australian racing industry.
“My investment in The Everest is an investment in the industry and Yulong is proud to be involved with that,” said Mr Zhang.
“To win The Everest as a slot holder means the investment we have made in Australia has proven an early success. I’m very excited. I didn’t expect to win The Everest in just the second year of the race.”
Mr Zhang was very active at Inglis’s Ready2Race Sale on Monday at Riverside, in the hope of sourcing a future champion that has the talent to one day run in his own Everest slot.

“Yulong will get involved in other new creations that the industry looks to make in the future,” he said.
“The racing industry in Australia is very healthy and we want to be able to stand firmly and be a serious player in the industry here long term.
“The racing and breeding of Yulong Investment has been running in a most professional way and has enjoyed commercial success already.”
Dominant Gimcrack Stakes winner Catch Me is also raced by Yulong and Mr Zhang is now eyeing off a Golden Slipper trophy while Yulong is also keen to continue increasing their sponsorship in the industry.
In the inaugural running of The TAB Everest, Yulong Investments were also quick off the mark, securing She Will Reign to run in their slot soon after she had won the 2017 Golden Slipper.
